Chiffon over pale blue
Purple over pink
Two Sandpipers sailing
Mauve over yellow
Yellow saturates near source
Burnt green almost black
Over marsh green
Then shimmering surf seen
.
Two folks on little Jette rocks
Savoring the sea scene
Small beach bay distance
Large jette jutts out
Into reflected colors rippling,
dancing, comforting my soul
While small minnows nibble
Soothed legs in warm salt bath

Glow

.
.
Having Day Off the day before PayDay every week is really getting on my nerves! Mostly I have to hang out around the house doing chores, n not get as many errands accomplished until they're all built up into that massive list again.
.
At least I was hanging around at the right time to catch this nifty sunset on the coves. It was even worth the gazillion sustained NoSeeUm bites-
.
You'll see some more of these pics later...

Summah

I've been sleeping alot better recently, (thanks for all those prayers, btw) even with the high humidity n heat happening (80s F). I've been feeling very exhausted. The folks downstairs have been away for a week now- Not sure if it'll be for the summer yet. Mischief n I are sure enjoying all the quiet...
.
Before they left, they decided to shut off the hose water inside the basement. (I can't turn it back on-) I'm really sick of folks making descisions that directly affect me (n not them) without ever saying a thing about it to me! I called the owner to complain in hopes the water gets turned back on sometime soon.
.
.
The list of can'ts without hose water seems really long in the heat: rinsing sand off toes, watering plants, cleaning pollen off Little Truck, washing deck, washing garden planters, washing rugs, n just plain cooling off would all be really good about now!
.
My arms are sore lately, n carrying many x-milk jugs of water for the plants outside daily is driving me absotootly nuts!
.

.

Work orders are going tourist crazy, -well it is almost the 4th of July vaca crowd time. The kids are all out of school, Cape League Baseball has started, n the traffic here is much thicker. So are the insect swarms all around the village. (I'm allergic to OFF).
.
Photo by SnaggleTooth Summer 2010The Huckleberry tree is berrying, n many birds are chirping out the window, yet remain invisible to Digi-Cam. This year, I can reach some berries from the Bathroom window, so I got a few for breakfast the past few days.

They taste alot like mulberries. No gritty seeds are in them. It's been years since I've tried some.
.
The deck plants are doing well so far. All my turnips, n beets are protected with chicken n hardware wire. Maybe I'll get to eat them before the squirrels do this time- I'm trying to figure out where the radishes went to in here someplace.
.
Photo by SnaggleTooth Summer 2010I bought some bargain flats of annuals, some with pretty burgandy n pink Petunias for .50 cents each at Shaws market last week! (I love really good bargains). I cut most of the blooms off already, but they'll bounce back soon to compete with the previous blue-violet pansies bargain. N I haven't even spent $5 bux yet!...
.
.
.
.
The Tiger Lillies are on the prowl all over the place, n the Bramble Roses are beginning to burst into bloom finally, even after getting run over last winter, n repeatedly knocked down by the folks downstairs who have zero regard for plants... (or me either). It would really help if I could water all of these (except Mishief) with the hose...

But at least I'm getting more uninterrupted sleep than I've had in over nine months...
.
(n that's something to appreciate)...

Rypos F Plus

.
Fasten your funny-belts- Here comes the sixth version of saved, missed-keyed strange-ness! This latest litter has been saved since March 2010 until this week.
.
Some sorry puppies were fixed before clicking publish, or edited after. A few slipped by me tho- I save to a Notepad file n re-read it often for amusement.
.
Most entries appear as phrases, sans punctuation. NOTE: In this "F" edition, instead of waiting for a "Creative Minds Guess" Definitons Post, I've chosen to add them directly after the entries, n also include some comments of my thoughts.
.
Invention of new words never hurt me. I enjoy wondering,
"What is that?"

Docking

.
The Short Pier next to the main village Pier has been much busier with small watercraft these days.
.
I finally made it thru my workweek, but I've got so much to get done between errands n yardwork I'll be hard pressed to get to more recreational things. Parts of the yard are three-feet tall already, due to the constant rain showers all week.
.
With any luck it won't be raining again when I get up, n some of it will get done before the daylight is over. Hope I'm up to it, n the insects aren't really bad, as I tend to get the most done near dusk time. Yes, the folks are still downstairs, adding to my grogginess n the pieces of garbage on the tall lawn to pick up before I can start cutting anything.
.
I really hate my Day Off countdown of what has to get done first before they close when my list is so long. So many priorities... I need to make a dump run to empty trash, n need all manner of supplies, like socks n work-shoes. The town is doing road construction on the main strip now, so the store errands may be more of a hassel to get done. I need to pay some bills online n by phone, n my whole day will be a huge juggle of what first, n what to put off until after dark, n after other places close.
.
.
I'd like to be putting rest as my priority, but that won't happen this week. I'll try to blogread a bit, but that's back-burner, as are art-related projects until the rest of the necessary work is done.

Busy, busy, busy...

Cloudy Surprizes

.
.
When I was out on the cloud excursion the other day, fate seemed to be smiling on me...

.It became easily noticeable when I changed the colors. (The little clouds formed a smiley face over the sea gull- actual photo- not drawn in!)
.
Photo by SnaggleTooth June 2010Sometimes you cross your fingers, look to the skies, n luck points you which way to go... (This arrow was taken off the deck before heading out to the pier, n points to the pier!)

Then in a blink of an eye the shapes shift in the wind, n are forever gone... (until the photos are uploaded at the end of the day.)

Sometimes you're unaware of what you have until you take your time re-inspecting them closely later on...

Clouds

.
The other day when I thought I might get woken up twenty times, I was wrong...
.
Unbelievably, after falling asleep at about 7 am, I got a call from the landlord at 9am, informing me the roof was getting done that day. Fifteen minutes later the guy was pounding the roof over my head n intermittently using a loud heat gun until fifteen minutes before I had to get up...
.
Image by SnaggleTooth June 8 2010Funny enough, I had a constantly interrupted dream sequence consisting of being in a new, huge apartment building with tons of doors. I left my new apartment, n couldn't find the right door on the way back! I kept knocking on doors n introducing myself to tons of strangers. Each apartment I went to on my quest to figure out how to get back, had pet dogs... Oy! (How strange).
.
I spent the whole time waking up n going back to that same dream when I did get a few minutes to sleep. Bang, bang, bang- guess I turned the sounds into door knocking... Never got back to where I'd started...
.
I was woken up at least 50 times! Then had a long night at work with no break n no lunch... due to machine malfunction issues.
.
Photo by SnaggleTooth June 8 2010 Today was a pop-up storm day, n while thunder could be heard not far away in the spotty cloud towers (Sandwich got them) my area was spared. I slept pretty late to make up for yesterdays debackle.
.
The clouds were nifty shades down at the pier. When I went to fav beach for sunset after errands, clouds were less. Digi-cam ran out of juice, n I got eaten alive by huge swarms of gnats. Some followed me into Little Truck- I opened the windows while going down the road to flush them out of the cab-
You'll see some more pics from my adventures later.
.
Photo by SnaggleTooth June 8 2010If you're interested in some more fun cloud pics, visit my old buddy. Carmi, who's running a Thematic "cloud" photo series this week. (His link has been in my side bar almost forever... well since 2006...) I do like clouds!

Troubled Water

Photo by SnaggleTooth June 2010 .
Day Off is raining on the possibility of outdoors exploration again, but at least I was spared most of the severe thunder n lightning that got most of the state this afternoon. I'm so zonked from the marathon work week-end anyhow, n not energetic enough for major chores. The yard is beginning to resemble a mini-jungle with out of control weeds having a field day around the trailer...
.
Perhaps tomorrow will yield more clear weather n ambition to tackle some more overgrowth. At least I got some low tree branches sticking out into the road pruned last week. One small step at a time.
.
Fires in southern Quebec are pouring smoke clouds all over New England this week. The other day driving on the highway was like going thru fog banks, n it smelled like something was burning. There were air quality alerts issued.
.
I can't tell if that's why I'm so tired too, but suspect it isin't helping. The rain may clean the air today at least.
.
This week I discovered troops of small beetle buggies to declare war on in the kitchen. The cleaning list never ends, work laundry first of course. Cupboards, walls, floors, ... picking it off a bit at a time...
.
Wish I had more energy. Usually getting out for walks helps, but I'm stuck in.
.
I wish TV would replay the finale of LOST which I didn't get to see due to the network changing the night of the week it was aired from the series scheduled night. I had been able to see the series when Day Off was changed. (Puter's too slow to watch online).
.
I'm going thru the old n extensive VHS collection again. I read somewhere you should run them thru a VCR every two years or so to keep them playable. Today's choice is "The Order" with Heath Ledger. I haven't seen it since his untimely demise. In the film he's a priest who becomes a "Sin Eater."
.
The DVD I'm watching this week is "Deep Blue," also seen in a new light when considering the damage currently being inflicted upon the oceans by the May BP oil disaster. I find some parts of this film horrifying to behold, btw. Namely the sea lions being tossed around by Orcas. But that's out-weighed by the beauty of the other sea life shown to excellent music scores, which is very intense.
.
Photo by SnaggleTooth June 2010My thoughts on the oil in the Gulf of Mexico is affected by my knowledge from college courses taken in Earth n Ocean science. I wrote an ESR post, "Just Ducky," on the fact it has been proven that objects in one ocean can eventually end up in all seven oceans via the major currents.
.
The Atlantic may be only a hurricane away from oil wandering out of the gulf n into "the Gulf Stream Current" which runs up the Atlantic East Coastal USA. They are predicting a bumper crop of hurricanes this season...
.
The waters of "Buzzards Bay" from Westport around to Falmouth MA, where I live, is in fact fed by "Gulf Stream Current". This is why occassionally tropical sea animals like manatees, sea turtles, Portugeuse Man-o-War, n even White sharks are found off the coast of Cape Cod. They ride the Gulf Stream ocean highway up here.
.
Then the North Atlantic Current swings around Greenland n Norway to the shores of the UK, down the European coast, ect- It's possible the entire ocean, n world, can get reminants of this contamination affecting the entire planets food chain which begins with step one: the plankton.
.
Thinking about the oil situation is upsetting because I believe it's only a matter of time before it affects everything. I also hate not being able to do anything about it, feeling helpless.
.
I'd rather have the yard caught up too. It feels better to solve problems instead of not having a choice but be affected by it. The rain is dictating my activities. We need a Sin Eater to take the blame for the major oil in the ocean problem n fix the mess. No one will have a choice but to feel the effects, with nothing to do about it. Water, clean-up, beyond control, n the elements of my day all seeming so connected-
.
Contaminated food sources... I don't even want my cat to eat fish anymore!
.
Where's the chocolate ice cream...
