No Cam Do

Some experiences are wonderful to experience, but  would've been great pic subjects...

3 reasons I wanted my cam, which was at home,  Saturday evening on the 23 of June:

I wanted a pic of a surprise rainbow seen beside me during my work break as I walked in a spot-cloud sun-shower toward Little Truck.

The clouds were spread about n beautiful as the sun descended while I ate my sandwich. I knew I'd be missing a spectacular colorful sunset after I had to re-enter the windowless factory after my break.

Then a cute, little, wild, White-tailed rabbit casually hopped right by me in the truck, heading for the huge, damp lawn in the finally  much less hot n humid air to frolick n graze.
I wanted to frolick carefree too-

Today I'll settle for posting the pretty broken clouds at sunset seen today over M-cove after many hours of severe thunderstorms, n one of my friendly squirrel friends checking out the tasty Huckle-Berries right outside my window... I ate some too.

On a Hot Summer's Night

It's official, We've had the first heatwave, (3 days over 90F), of the warm season. Work has me stuck into sticky, sweaty clothes, n longing to walk into the freezer all night. (I didn't get to- no time). Honestly, I don't know how southerners can take the constant heat. The humidity really got to me this time. Of course I have zero a.c., just some old, small fans placed around to move the air.

These sunset pics of the M-cove occurred on the first night of the wave. A boat moored there, previously seen on ESR, came back from the day's excursion, making fantastic ripples across the normally calm water, spicing it up just right-.

Surprizes

Today is forecast to be really hot with air quality warnings. We haven't had a really hot day here since last August. I took a nap, got up to do some things in the early morning, now I'll close-up the house, turn the fans on, n sleep thru most of it. Maybe I'll go toe-dipping later...

Cropped pic is from below,
also seen in May's Post I Spied.

A surprise package was received recently containing a reconditioned desktop computer. I'll have to spend some time cleaning out the computer zone for space here, n the floor wire-power area is full of dust-bunnies again. I'm not sure what the specs are until I can get it set-up, but it should keep me busy awhile, plus has a dvd player-yay!

Recently I commented at Tabors blog about how what sprouts from my container garden out on the deck always surprizes me. This year I got a beautiful Viola going strong, n several Shasta Daisiy surprizes- one in the middle of beets,  from seeds planted years ago that had never sprouted. Some of the old container soil gets recycled n replenished with new components in the spring when preparing for the new planting.

Pic taken in May, also shows
Inpatien seedlings, beets, Coral-eyed Phlox,
n Dianthus Starlette, a Mom's Day gift.

Today I had time to go thru the old (huge) seed packet pile. I found out the years I'd planted them were 1996 n 1997, 16 n 15 years ago- that's amazing! Why they decided to grow now, a complete mystery...

Looks Restful

Sing to the tune of
"Sittin' by the dock of the Bay."

Sittin' at the pier
All day
Letting the fish
Take my bait away,

Snoozin at the pier
Snore away
Wasting my li-i-ine...

*Replace whistling with gull cries

(Note: His bucket was empty...)

Hay Today

Altered Image by SnaggleTooth June 2012
It was a  fair Day Off during the sunny breaks, tho the wind was whipping n the clouds moving in from the west for another rain day to follow. I knew it was a "Make hay while the Sun shines " occasion,  got laundry hung out, got across town to the dump, went to the market there, made it back in time for mail pick-up at the Post Office, n  took a few minutes to walk around the pier.

There were a few good pics to try. A lot of folks were out n around, some on the bluffs, beach, n pier, enjoying the pleasant 70's breezy day before the vacation crowds come n  make it more difficult.

Boats crowded the Short Pier, n are moored across the whole bay again for the season. Most of the schools are out for the year here this week. Kids are everywhere, n the little school playground was very  crowded, I saw on my way back.

My neighbors cleaned up a big pile of branches by dumping it across from my house in a clear section of the woods where I had a path cleared. I got ticked off seeing them do it,  so after they were done, I removed their mess over to existing stick piles so I won't have to see it in front of my house all winter. I'm sure my neighbors are all clueless how much I've cleaned these woods thru the years, just to give them easy dumping space...

While I was covered with pollen anyway, I decided to hurry n get the lawn mowed as light began fading. At least it won't be a mile high after the rain tomorrow. I even finally got my moth traps up. The Indian Grain kitchen variety been multiplying like crazy  in here. I put ant dust around the whole house outside, n the trees  too. The Carpenter ants are out in force already. Last week when I repaired some holes in the cement stairs, I'd noticed them trooping into a crack under the bottom step. I guess the mild winter is starting the insects off  with a bumper crop...

Finally after another store trip I have time to read n relax. I always feel good about myself when all that stuff gets done. Maybe because it gives me a sense of being in control n caught up on something, as opposed to everything being backlogged! Hopefully something else on the list will easily follow now that the necessary  is taken care of.

May your bales of hay be already stacked in the loft...

LeftOvers

This post was meant to be published the 5th.
Sometimes I'm not sure why some great pics in my files aren't chosen to post. Here are some unused shots from my May file. I've notably slowed down on my new pic generation lately.

The reason for both of the above is the same. I've been too crazy busy, n too crazy tired...
Back on the 12th walking toward the D-bridge for sunset pics I took this one of colorful sprouting leaves in the new greenery next to the water from the side of the road.

When I went to the laundrymat on the 9th it was windy n reportedly raining all around my town, but not in it. The cloud view from the from the parking lot reminded me of the roof of someone's mouth, all ridges.
I can't mention ridges without the old chip commercial running thru my head ("R-R-R-Ruffles have R-R-Ridges!" *crunch*)

It's been cool, overcast, n raining all June here so far. I haven't even picked up the cam this month yet-

This was taken on the same day as the "Spotty" post from the deck- another sky panoramic I really like...

Thanks to the rent n electric bill this week I'll be eating from the freezer leftovers for awhile... not a hardship, really. My fave frozen leftovers include homemade cheezeburger pizza sections, n turkey with mashed, stuffing, n gravy.

It's taken me a long time to re-stock the freezer since Hurricane Irene last September. Hopefully I'll be clearing freezer space to fit ice cream tubs in there soon, before it gets really hot out.

I wonder if the clouds will clear in time to spot Venus crossing infront the sun beginning at about 6pm this evening... or if I'll have to load the NASA site again to see it.
(Note: it was too overcast to see from here, but someone on Nantucket Island got a pic).
(Note: Chrome was finally successfully installed, making this post possible. It's wasted a whole week of my time). Now back to the regular program of more normal blogging....  with any luck-

Y-no

Posting has been taking so much time, in the state of operation I'm in here, that I really can't do a quick posting at all anymore.
Even the way it's been, the post I'd planned much earlier to do should've taken about a half-hour to accomplish. Instead, try after try gave me a blank error screen every time I hit save or publish.
How aggrivating it is to load n reload pics over a slow modem for over 6 hours only to fail try after try... instead of getting much needed sleep after work, n rendering some of my post content useless (ie: about the Venus thing on NASA today).
So now after only a couple hours of sleep n only being able to save a text only draft, I don't feel up to much.

But I'm trying again now, it's the following evening, to once again insert images n see if they stick- If not, you'll only get this imageless explaination...
or: Ok, now I'll try doing images in a separate post without text... wouldn't work either! Wish I could figure this out- why suddenly I can upload but not save pics to post-
Is this happening to anyone else today?
