Did you miss me?

A last minute, 24-hour notice, work schedule change, resulted in not getting any rest time before I needed to find stuff to pack for week-end visit trip.

Then a last minute travel plan change to the night before essentially deprived me of all sleep before the family day n gave me only a couple hours to get ready n more things needed to bring. Plus I was not home to make all the food I'd wanted to eat the evening of my Day Off. I threw most away after I got back. Also I couldn't go grocery shopping before back to work. They gave me split up Days Off, had one Day n then  worked 7 days in a row with no OT because my Days Off were moved again to the end of the week. Today is Library time, n need to pay bills so no work-food shopping time until tomorrow, n lost my laundry day at the house as a work day. Now will struggle to fit in one load for work stuff.

\n workday "6-in-a-row" folks at the house woke me up all morning, so I got less than 3 hours of sleep before working a shift in Hell with some very difficult, other culture young folks being cruel n rude to me  all night.

Now family folks trying to get me to schedule some more trips but I can't even think - Too much stress! just want to snooze n do nothing until my body can recover a bit... still waiting for that...

So my shopping, chores, laundry, sleeping, eating, n work days are all screwed up at once, going on week 3. I wish everyone would stop changing my plans for me! Wonder if it will continue next week- It's about time to throw a fit at all these folks. Only a week left of crazy summer orders - Yay!

Something strange happened after work at 3am the other day. That annoying emergency broadcast system warning test noise came on over the tv. My impulse was to hurry n change the channel away from that rude, nasty beep. But for the first time in my memory, it was announcing an actual emergency!

A tornado warning was issued for Metro-West, the area of my childhood home where I still know some folks. There was a tornado later confirmed in Concord MA. Luckily no one except trees n wallets were injured.

Here's where we had a family visit. Did alot of toe- dipping, tho was cooler n overcast that day so no one really swam. Got more for later...

What? No altered ones???

This week-end some of my sibs are visiting the area. The other person who was doing my work on my normal days off quit last week. I don't blame them, but in order to get one week-end off, my whole schedule got changed around for the next few weeks.

I have different days off. Now I have no "library is open" day for next week. This week I had no day before to do pics. So you will have to deal with no new altered pics for two weeks - Sorry! There may be no post at all next week, unless I get here before work which is tough to do.

Plus it is so hot out today After a couple minutes of pic searching, I had to shut off the computer, it generates too much heat in my room.I didn't even brew tea the right way, Just used hot tap water for some caffeine! Yikes. I'm definitely getting Italian Ice on the way home.

So don't worry if I'm blog MIA next week. Hopefully things will cool down by then, n I will get to catch up again.

Don't melt....

Ugh it's Aug

Finally a few days under 90F to not over-heat in...

I reminded my new boss about requested time off coming up next week, n good thing because he had the wrong week on his calendar! There's a sibling bbq planned by the South Shore, so I'm hoping the weather is good there so I can get in a beach day.

What I like most about summer chores is the light amount of laundry to keep up. So much less work than winter layers, even with more towels. I scored several $3 t-shirts at Back to School Walmart sales too, along with a notebook n pack of pens for a buck.

I've been notebook writing alot since I've been here a year now. Noticably my tired state has contributed to my lack of inspiration in poetry n hand-art-work.  recently. Now my ragweed allergy has my eyes all swollen n I always have to take benadryl to stop the head-aches. Still, I manage to feel ambition even if I'm having a tough time doing anything extra.

I cropped out this seagull from the beach last week. Every time a group near me left the beach, he n his pal thoroughly searched the site for scraps, n did find some buried food treasures. They got really ambitious n robbed some people who left their stuff while going to the water... Of course, my stuff was tied up inside bags, so they couldn't get mine. The other folks slowly realized it was their fault, not the birds. Some newcomers learn slowly...

I learned it's been very difficult to live as I have in the past year. Hopefully I find ways to improve progress. Work is about to get very busy for this week-end before I get a few days to re-coup.

This reminds me of folks laying on the beach.

the above is from the crop pic.

It's the Pan Mass Challenge fund-raising week-end bike ride from Hopkington to ProvinceTown, stopping overnight at near by Mass Maritime Academy. Work donates breakfast goods for the participants n we will be swamped. Hopefully after that I get some relax time.
