Sky Dancing

After work last night I got really side-tracked, when I discovered one of the younger, very shy kitties here had birthed a single, orange kitten on a towel in a chair. (The young male was fixed recently).

She's now hiding in a file drawer with the kit, n came out to eat when I got home today, but is hiding again from the other folks when they arrive. She had been famished. She's getting alot of extra treats n petting from me now. Poor thing isin't yet a year old - a teen Mom, but doing well on her first day, considering.

Work orders are up lately, n I haven't been doing much besides reading Suzanne Collins n watching Vampire movies in my collection this week. I do really get a kick out of those movie special effects. I wish I had more leisurely days to play with my ideas more. (plus the newer programs n machines to do some movies of my own).

For now I'll settle for a couple hours of pic playing, soon to be seen on ESR...

This week I still didn't get to transplanting the new garden pets, as the temps keep dipping to freezing overnight this week. Easier to put plastic over little pots than big ones.

Tough to believe that I got all these (not from the Kitten pic) from a random cloud formation on a windy day. At times the sky is the prettiest sight plus the best free show we get. Now it's even more entertaining for me...

Wungah

Don't know why I wanted to name this pic " Wungah "

Or "What happens to your thinking when you are too drunk."

Woops, I was unaware until now that name is a place in Afghanistan! Sorry I hope it's prettier than this image...
I'm learning every day here-

Muddling through an exhausting week as the cool. windy weather starts turning nicer for this Day Off. Trying to do way too much with limited sleep n daylight for the garden.

Hoping when I get the Thyme , Lavender, n bush Tomato just purchased into pots I don't have to keep running put to cover them from freezing temps.

They were looking bedraggled in the wind outside the store (cheap) when I decided to get them earlier rather than later. Now I must make time take care of them. I keep giving myself more to do when I have had so little time to do everything.

Don't know why I picked this out of a larger Curly-cue pic as a lady with an angry expression having a very bad, windy, Hair Day... I've had a few lately...

Finding bird forms in almost all I did with this week's pic, despite never seeing them where I got the original from...

Original pic is of the partially obscured Salt Marsh I pass each time I walk home. It always seems so devoid of action. I have yet to hear much close-by bird song there, but last week I did loudly hear some invisible Peepers!

I have alot of pics of the view through the branches,- Finally using one.

Hopefully the new garden pets will bounce back in a few weeks. (n me too!...)

Spring Marathon

It's that crazy week again. Tax-Deadline, Marathon Monday, n add-on Patriots Day in Massachusetts on a long- week-end. Mobs will visit the Eastern part of the state, n work-orders North near Beantown will sky-rocket. At dawn there's a re-enactment in Lexington (P-interest site) of the first "Shot Heard around the World" from the Revolutionary War for the State Holiday.

I did a great job of procrastinating on filing State Taxes Which I have to make a payment on, due to Health Care obligation laws changing. Hopefully tonight I get the forms filled in correctly by hand from a previously figured out copy a bit neater.

Finally we got some clear weather days here to get to garden chores. Today was still pretty windy n cold tho -

On my walk home from the library I always pass this garden spot by the walkway. The Daffodils were so pretty before it snowed. Now two weeks later, they don't look as happy...

But I got some fun images without even altering the pretty one first!

Makes a lovely wreath.

After -

(Kinda like runners after the Marathon...)

The other pics are made from another windowsill view.
After that snow, I felt I deserved another tiny cheer-up container of red mini-roses. There are seeds planted in small pots in the other window. Some Basil already sprouted. Hopefully I can put some out in the garden. Still waiting on the Petunias.

Need to search for the seed pile from the old house - in here somewhere. Maybe next week- Taxes in the mail first.

Hopefully the Boston Marathon goes by without major incident. They are supposed to do some filming of extras for the new Mark Wahlberg film, "Patriots Day" too. I get to miss out on all the fun n work all week-end anyhow.

At least spring has started running...

Cracking

Yep weather is nuts this year, seems normal has been cancelled until further notice. Of course it's spring-time, so all the warmth has deserted,n been replaced with snow, ice, n Polar temps. I knew there'd be a price to pay for that earlier nice weather at Xmas time.

A couple days ago we got slammed with about 8, heavy, packed, slushy, inches of snow here. Of course I had to go to work during the storm, got totally drenched, n had to shovel some places at work. Very slippery walking in slush too, then it crusty-iced, n there's still alot of ice around. Today it began to melt a bit at least. The wind-chill is tough to endure for long out there tho. It's effectively Winter, out of season again.

It's seemed like an easier week for me, if only missing the one workday from the beginning.

I recently watched movies from the library: "Dracula, Untold" with Luke Evans, which I really liked - about how Vlad the Impaler became the monster. Great effects n plot. ; and "There will Be Blood" with Daniel Day Lewis as an oil man. I didn't like that one much at the ending.

Also watching a 3-movie dvd of Stargate SG1 stuff I own. According to the bonus materials it was the longest- running Sci-Fi tv series. Years ago I used to watch it after the original movie came out. Also I used to watch the spin-off series "Stargate: Atlantis."

When I get bored, stifled, or feeling like I'm getting nowhere, (like these days) I always turn to thinking of endless possibilities that watching or reading Sci-Fi cues in my thinking.

I'm so grateful I got this little, portable dvd player so I can see films again. It definitely helps my state of mind improve in dreary weather.

I'll be walking back in the rain today...

.
My Dad used to always kid us, "Hang onto your toenails!" as we left with him for a city drive. He was a last-second brake stomper. (wow I just found out on wiki that a Stomper is a type of rifle!)

The squirrel here always hangs on by his toe-nails at this bird feeder right outside my window.
