"Royal Pain in the Butt"

Is what I nicknamed a new product in honor of the royal baby sprung on me at work which required tons more time, paper, n prep work - right on "My Friday," (5th day in a row).
So now I'm basically having a non-functional Day Off.
All the businesses are jumping on that make a new trend buck bandwagon, I guess... n I'm paying for it by not getting needed stuff done.

After going thru a sleepless week, the extra work without extra help or pay was the last thing I needed. I suppose there's something about warm weather which makes me complain more. (I am too sore).

Yay- Today finally rained a bit n brought the temp n humidity down.

I think it's great there's a healthy new royal baby, but too bad they don't do this crazy stuff for other babies! Because every single one is just as special- but I am really glad I didn't have mine under the public, media microscope!

btw- I rigged up my machine to get online again, but still going on a slower connection, n have had little time to improve the machine set-up, (updates, ect.,) which I'll get to if I ever catch up enough on chores n sleep, There's way to much dust I'm allergic to behind this machine's here. I'm already not feeling too good today...

Well, at least I have another day to attempt my recovery. I must force myself to get the work laundry washed n hung up before dawn tho-  My blog reading list is way backlogged too. I'd much rather do that, really!

Did you see a new Royal Baby themed product today?
(Mine for about a hundred stores was a sugary food I don't recommend eating!)

Steaming

I wonder how many other folks got a pic with Tiger Lilies, a jet ski running in salt water, n Victorian homes all in the same shot today?

The theme today::
Privacy -
or lack thereof...

The middle of the normal week is actually my Off work week-end for all intents n purposes, n so I think...

Joeys Pad

Yes, SnaggleTooth has decided to join in a Week-End Wobbly! Of course the King n founder of the original Week-end Wobbly occasion is Blogland's very own, infamous, LLcoolJoe of Joey's Pad. Always a favorite read!

The Offender:
The neighbor from Jersey (or possibly Hell)

As previously mentioned years ago in ESR posts about tourist season on Cape Cod, in the summertime my village here fills up with part-time residents, most notably in the house out the side window less than fifteen feet away...

One of the owners descendants with a New Jersey plate on her car really got my ire up yesterday. Still don't know her name-

It's steaming hot in the 90's F here this week. I have no ac, just a few fans, n my windows are open.

Telling neighbors what you don't think they should do in their own yard, for example, is rude enough.

But I was making lunch for work at my kitchen table, near my window with a water view (n also the neighbors always out on their porch, unfortunately), n this woman yelled up to me from her porch,

"Hey you up there by the window-..." then proceeded to tell me I shouldn't feed the birds because I'm attracting skunks in the side yard in the evening. She'd tried knocking last night but I wasn't there- I was at work.

I did not appreciate feeling watched, n being loudly complained at like that in my home about something that I enjoy doing every day. The curtains are now closed up for the duration of her hopefully brief occupation, n I feel uncomfortable reading in my favorite chair by the water view.

I thought up so many unkind comebacks to say, but stayed pleasant n un-confrontational to the young woman, stifling my feelings.

"I'd rather have skunks out my window than you-" quickly came to mind. (Should've but didn't )

* Then there's "Hello McFly, your keen powers of observation didn't register that this fruit tree beside my house has ripe Huckleberries all over it that animals come to eat."

Of course the folks are eating meals outside, n have a row of full trash cans on that side of their cottage also. Skunks actally live under their rear porch in the winter. I can see them come n go. It can't be those folks attracting skunks, eh?

There have been skunks thru my yard since the day I moved in. This village is loaded with them. Last summer, the town trapped a bunch of skunks n euthanized all of them. That made me angry too, killing critters instead of relocating them just seems wrong. Skunks are very misunderstood creatures.

I don't mind the skunks. They don't hurt anything, eat alot of bugs n leave my garden alone. I've seen them all over the yard plenty of times n have never been sprayed. I throw bread out early in the day n it's gone by evening.

I'm not going to stop feeding birds n squirrels, n that lady has no right to tell me I can't. But now I'm being purposely sneaky about it, n putting it where the neighbors can't see it. What a hassle-

I really resent not getting to relax in my kitchen as usual. I hate my curtains blocking the windows, but do not want people yelling up at me in my free time like that again! Enough stress already-

It's dark in here without the daylight, n claustrophobic with these small rooms. But I think the closed curtains also tells them to leave me alone. They need to get the message without me screaming back at them, because I am so angry about this. I totally ignored them all by looking away while walking past their porch several times today. I will make an effort not to speak to them again. I may launch into what I really think once I start- n it won't be pretty...

Hopefully this heat wave is over soon...

Still Out Here Somewhere

Two Days Off after two exhausting, over burnt weeks finally... Now I'm trying to get alot done which got so quickly behind. Between the house, the yard, the errands, n the laundry I've got my hands full.

The yard is loaded with sneezy weeds, I've got an allergic dermatitis rash all over that itches like hell, fruitflies n ants have invaded the kitchen, n last week I'd never made it shopping. At least the sporadic late day deluges have watered the plants.

I'm so glad work will get easier now except for Labor Day week-end. Tho I've walked thru some beach water, I haven't been swimming yet in this heat. Still need to wash a bathing suit, n first, still need to find it. The "To-Do" is extensive. Did get some packed away shorts out to wear at least.

Still, it seems I've already done so much, n it hasn't even made a dent in the pile. I've had zero computer fix time. This is the first I've fired up the machine all week. At least I found some pic play time off the sore feet today-

I recently went for a walk on a beach across town. It's been overcast all my days off so far. I've never seen those kind of pink flowers on ferns before. Mine have white ones. Such a nifty altered version too.

Fast As --

 Lightning...

I was severed from being online at home, less than a week after signing up on a new ISP
plan.
What could possibly keep Snaggle from her appointed rounds ala` the ESR sidebar? Nothing
voluntary!

Right after I was last seen posting on ESR n writing a few comments elsewhere, I had an important online errand, but decided to get off-line quickly anyway- as an intense thunder n lightning storm rolled loudly overhead... but the new service was too slow signing off, with three dialog clicks needed to do so- n I could feel some electricity in the air as the village power died. After a few minutes the power came back on-
But when I re-booted my PC, it's modem no longer would work, but the phone on the same line is fine. Mind you, I have a surge protector plugged into a surge protector, plugged into a third one on my machine-

At work, this is our busiest week of the entire year. I just did six, over ten-hour shifts in a row with no free time for dealing much with the Puter issue. I did cable checking, modem testing, n wasted time trying to dial up numerous times without results. Prob needs a cleaning again in the stack box too.
Now I only get one Day Off, which is the holiday- making errands very difficult with stores closed n crowds everywhere. I haven't really had enough sleep once in over two weeks now. Prob would be even less if I got in more blog reading...

I hate not getting to respond to comments, put up posts at will, not pay the paperless bills on time, n run-up late fees... For awhile this summer I'll have to wait to get to BBM's spiffy machine down the road. Email accounts are all full of too much to sift thru today. In the past, I was without a PC all Summer of '07 n still managed some posts to ESR. At least I can still work on my files offline.
So Sorry to all about suddenly disappearing, but had no choice or alternate means available. Contrary to popular belief, I'm still alive, tho more sore than usual. N very bored after work! Hope you're all doing ok- will try to get around blogland in this very limited time, but more pressing issues may delay me.
This Kinda feels like the opposite of independence being forced off the net-

but Happy Independence Day anyhow! I've really missed all you special blogger friends.
