Flight Sight

The gulls always seem so close sailing by me, when I click them, but so far away in the pic back at home. The final crop ends up as more of a graphic silhoutte, but at least not a total blur as other recent tries at the capturing the motion. When you consider the sunlight made seeing anything in the dispay impossible at the time, it's amazing I even got them in the frame...
They play a good "Follow the leader" game.
.
There's a "Skywatch Fridays" thing going on as advertised at David's recent post in case you're interested in doing a weekly post project. I don't sign-up for any of those weekly things, cause I hate following schedules. (Note this fits with the theme, but it isin't Friday). I like following other people's ideas tho- like at Carmi's he's got a "Caption This" contest which always has me giggling at the comments due to folks great, silly ideas. I'm a past Honorable Menschen. The current one has me stumped at the moment tho.
.
In blogging it's easy to get ideas to post by playing Follow the Leader of posts seen elsewhere. What amazes me, is when I finally go read put off stuff, n discover people wrote similar themed or titled posts about the same time I had! Is this only co-incidence, or Follow the Leader? It's a tough call, but in blogging, it doesn't really matter. Common social experience increases the odds of folks similar ideas. Everyone has a unique opinion to add.
.
I wonder when the public's novel ideas n words to post will become exhausted. There's so much specialized info posted out there by experts already. So many folks of differrent regions of the planet's cultures actually teaching n relating to each other through the blogger-net. The ability to add our piece into the puzzle of what makes us all tick, makes us want to be part of the loop, to play a part.
.
This post just jelled all by itself, after deciding to put the gull pic up, totally unplanned to end up as a Follow the Leader game themed post, due to the comp of pic subjects, n recent blog reads. I could've just related my over-tired, low-key day...

Local Observations

Today I saw the neatest thing. As I carefully meandered down the avenue toward the errand-land across town, which is also the way toward the local high school, I noticed a homemade poster.
.
"Happy Birthday Brianna!" it boldly exclaimed in large, colorful letters. Then about 5 poles down the road was another in neon pink "Brianna Happy 16!" A green one was next, "Sweet 16 Brianna!" Large Posters on poles continued all the way into town, Wishing a lucky birthday girl a great day, even if she had to go to school.
How cool is that?
.
What a bus ride she had to school! How loved would you feel seeing those for you? Or would you be mortifyingly embarraassed infront of your fellow villager passengers?
.
I'm thinking it's my next door neighbor's adorable grand daughter (same name), who was looking so grown up at twelve, when last I asked, a blink of an eye ago (a few years back). I bet it was her Nana who went the extra five miles too!
.
Every one should get to feel so special at least once in their life.

Expanse

Previously I stated that I love the expanse of space at the edge of the sea, n this is it.
The water looks yummy, but it's still only about 43 degrees F. The wind chill is what really cools you down here. I wonder how many fish are between here n the other side of the bay...

Transparency

.
.
If not for shadows of the waves from wind n the reflection of the sky increasing with depth, water would be clear. Maybe more green, brown, n red would be detectable due to the vegetation. If the fish couldn't hide, there'd be a ton less of them.
.
A cool, clear day n I got out for a few errands. I crossed my fingers n drove to my fav place on the way home. It amazes me how many folks go to that parking lot, but never get out of the car. Yeah, it's still a bit cool, but not unbearable by any means. It's always worth the side-trip.
.
Only one kid was out there leaping on rocks down the jette. (that pic was blurry). I tried to get the little flock of pipng plovers following me down the beach to pose, but they're so fast, every shot showed blurry birds. They're very cute to watch, tho. They're so shy you can't get within fifteen feet, either. If I had a great cam, long lens, n adjustable shutter speeds there'd be some nice birdy pics today. Well, I got the mind impression of their essense, n that's good too, just tough to share.
.
I played a few guitar tunes tonight, n my finger didn't hurt on the fret-board. There's still a lump on the bone, which hurts to the touch, but it functioned pretty good considering the recent injury. If I could get the rest of my body to rest-up I'd have more energy for music fun. It's time to begin another work-week, tho, n looks like a marathon order week to expect.
Off to another week of tired n sore in store for me... Have a good one.

Under Bridge

Adversity is a river to be crossed without a sea-worthy vessel. It's a challenge to still be standing after the storm of trouble.
.
Little Truck was out of commission for a bit, leaving me stranded, but I didn't miss one day of work. Folks stepped up when the help was needed. All the timing fell into place just so. I feel fortunate for having them in my life. So many folks are good inside, awaiting opportunity to prove it. Many got me a bit further over my rough trail, then another picked up the next rock.
.
Puter had it's issues too, n I was emotionally stranded. Free time was spend getting wound-up instead of unwinding. Hours spent searching for the non-existant option. Hours, then days of download n updates. Taking risks in order to search for solutions. All projects besides protection pushed to back-burner.
.
Now so much work leaving me too burnt to enjoy free time as I'd prefer. My idea of fun today is not lifting my arms, because then my back yells at me. I had fun at the store finding a two-dollar corned beef, n cabbage at .25 cents a pound. Food for a week under five bux- that's great because the rest of the cash belongs to the next Little Truck repair n the rent.
.
Thanks readers for all your positive energy n prayers sent to me in my trying times the past few weeks. So many supported the bridge allowing me to get over all that. (I took that pic today by the gas station). The Sun will shine on me again soon.

Worn

Today I'm so sore, I feel like that eroded piling left from the old pier. Amazing I can still function after the over-loaded days worked this week. Special promotions should be abolished. All the work orders suddenly increased but the staffing hasn't.
.
I've over-done it, n will be paying in pain for days. More than one day off is needed, but I won't get that luxury. So many chores are piled up I can't afford to do the nothing for a day I crave. If only I had a nice hot-jucuzzi to roast away the aches.
.
The cool, damp weather certainly won't be helping the Rhuematiz in my back any. Yikes, what a whiner! But I'm still standing...

List

I left this list of 7 things I love in Talon's recent meme comments, n posted it here for those of you interested in exploring what your list would be.

I love ...
1 ... when it's so quiet, I can sleep for over 6 hours when I don't have to get up early
2 ... not having to go anywhere all day n staying home playing with art projects
3 ... when people beg me to play a fav Guitar tune
4 ... when I win some cash on my Lottery ticket
5 ... the sound of heavy rain from inside a cozy, dry room when I don't have to go out in it
6 ... the expanse of open space at the edge of the sea
7 ... when I get to talk to dear old friends again

Blahoogha

After picking up Little Truck from the Doc Shop today, there was still alot of good daylight left. Driving was slow n careful, n the errand run was very quick. I can't stand the crowded stores on Saturdays, anyway.
.
I took a walk to the left of the pier, which I haven't done often, n found this scene just before the cam batteries died. Low tide left alot of sand exposed, n sea-foam was bubbled up at the edge of the windy-wave action. The wind-chill has been nasty here, even tho it seemed very warm when I was just a mile inland at the store.
.
My walk might've been nice n quiet, but a couple of older teen-agers were having a quarrel all around the bluff, beach, n pier. She kept fleeing n he was chasing with "Why?" all across my path the entire way of my pre-chosen walk until I turned back toward home. They must've been freezing their butts off without coats. She ended up alone on the pier, n he ended up sitting on the beach alone staring out at the island. So much public drama in the lives of the young... I felt intrusive, even tho I was trying to avoid them!
.
Usually I feel more unwound from troubles after getting outside for awhile. The week's been inconvenient n exhausting for me. Most of the chores are still undone. Little Truck's okay for now but has other important Doc Shop projects waiting for more time n cash. I'll be crossing the fingers n toes while driving until more gets done.
.
Off now to more mundane tasks n research, then more state tax-form ballet. I'm sure you'll notice when I get out n around e-space again. More time-consuming work is left to do there. It won't be long now... just keep swimming... If only I wasn't so tired!

You Rang?

BbbbrrreeerrrrRHHHHa-

Yes, that is a huge, slightly dented, fog horn located in back of an Inn up the road.
.
Yep, I had another (un)Lucky moment today. I backed into my parking space at work, n then the brake petal went limp! I'd just finished my prayers, too. Wow, talk about timing, I'd just gotten off the hightway before that. Now I'm bumming rides to work for a few days, n really low on cash again- rats!
.
My online playing around will be on hold awhile, due to the fact my anti-virus subscription has expired, n I no longer have the money to renew it, as I would've today. Now I'm avoiding all ads n unsecured gravitar sites, including most of my blog-reads until I can get updated again!
.
So altho I want to go read, now I don't dare, due to the possibility of being infected with adware n other nasty bugs. I'm limiting myself to known poisons (ESR) n won't even check email.
.
So I apologize for ignoring your wonderful writing n pics until I can get fixed up n clicking again soon, I hope. Please forgive me.
.
Wow, I'm Sooo- bored already... (*Rats)

Warm Wraps

.
Alot of snow melted away today, with the wonderful 60F air temp felt in town. The self-serve gas station turned into visiting time with a few of my old friends showing up all at once. I think that getting to catch up on news a bit after so much cabin fever helps you re-assess your blessings, n organize your thoughts.
.
While shopping for needed supplies, I got so over-heated, I couldn't wait to get back home to ditch the long-johns worn since about October.
Visiting the energetic little ones down the hill to play was fun, n we had ice cream. It's been many weeks since I've felt up to it, n work schedules always got us coming n going, so it's been tough finding the same Day Off to hang out. I needed that.
.
Chilly air is working in again, n the heat has to get turned back on. Tonight's time spring ahead should help me get more sunlight in my days, along with less sleep. Time to cover back up n keep warm...

Utter Stuff

.
.
.
.
Grrrh... The people downstairs have returned from wherever they'd gone. Rats! I'd been hoping they wouldn't return, but no such luck. It's back to constant loud noise, idiotic stuff going on, witnessing excessive party behavior, n many more missed sleep hours.
.
We had another gangbuster NorEaster snowstorm this week. It's been crustily frozen here ever since. My back really hates shoveling the frozen crusty driveway lumps n plow-droppings, but I did the porch, walk, storm drain, n my half of the driveway.
.
The kids didn't bother shoveling their half of the driveway. One decided to try to just plow thru the snow piles with an suv, but plowed into Little Truck's passenger door in the process! So Monday I got woken up early with a "Sorry I hit your truck." Then I had to stay up all night for work. What a great way to start the week...
.
Now I anticipate getting to miss more n more sleep for estimates, getting it fixed, n back to functional door condition. The window didn't shatter, but can't open because of the dent. It's not safe to have a passenger in the truck cab until it's replaced. You can hear n feel the breeze coming in, n temp's been in the sub-z's, Little Truck's not holding in the heat very well. If a vehicle hits the same door again, meantime, the internal brace-bar is bent, so it could cave in easily to injure who-ever is sitting there. No rides!
.
Once again, life's all about more time I can't afford, n more hassle for my nerves to handle. Instead of getting tax forms squared away, I'm doing all this unplanned stuff-
.
My digi-cam's memory card got some of the less important pics deleted to make a little space. Then I needed toe pics, Little Truck door pics, n took more snow pics today on my daylight, Day Off walk. Now the memory card is totally full again. I'll prob get a new one soon, anyhow. I have to do something to calm my over-tired nerves.
.
Now, back to reading tax instructions, n hoping this form pencil ballet results in a few dollars back for my many hours of trouble...

March In

.
Doesn't this pic make you want to climb in that little boat n speed thru the deserted water?
.
Why is it that just when I've had enough time off to be able to think clearly it's time to go get exhausted at work again? I've been sleeping better with the quiet, but for some reason I'm just not feeling rested yet. I guess you can't make up for a month of sleep deprivation in one week.
.
Actually, I've been pushing myself to wake up to accomplish more stuff in the afternoons this week. Daylight is lasting until after 5pm again. I only feel like doing stuff around the house when it's light outside because I can see better. The mundane chores have been building up since my finger was out of commission. Then another metal thing unexpectedly fell out of a rack on my big toe just before work was over Friday. Insult upon injury... Lovely black n blues are going on here.
.
I got all spoiled with the above frozen temps this week, just in time for March to roar in like a lion. Here comes a double storm whammy to drive in n home from work for the day. Sleet n snow, with the bigger stormy bonanza for the second act while driving home. Chills n thrills of bad weather driving begins my new month of expectations.
.
March on...
