On a Hot Summer's Night
It's official, We've had the first heatwave, (3 days over 90F), of the warm season. Work has me stuck into sticky, sweaty clothes, n longing to walk into the freezer all night. (I didn't get to- no time). Honestly, I don't know how southerners can take the constant heat. The humidity really got to me this time. Of course I have zero a.c., just some old, small fans placed around to move the air.
These sunset pics of the M-cove occurred on the first night of the wave. A boat moored there, previously seen on ESR, came back from the day's excursion, making fantastic ripples across the normally calm water, spicing it up just right-.

We too are having our first heat wave of the year. I don't see how you can stand not having ac. Ours is out right now and we're hoping the repair guy will get here today. I'm very spoiled to a cool house. Your beautifful surroundings however should make up for everything!
Without AC please be careful, drink lots of fluids and pace your activities. Heat and humidity mean your body cannot cool itself and you do not want to get heat stroke.
Bless your heart! I don't know how I would survive without AC - although we didn't have it when I was a child. Same thing - lots of fans around.
It's very humid here this morning - I got my walk in early and was drenched with perspiration when I was done.
Forgot to say how much I love those M Cove photos - just gorgeous.
Gran Annie, In New England it's usually hot like this onlty a few days per year, not worth spending hundreds for so little time. I don't like the allergy-filter cleaning problems with ac units- they make me ill long term. But I do wonder of i should've sprung for that Walmart $100 special last week- don't have the bux anyway!
I hope yours gets done ASAP! Alot hotter for longer there-
Tabor, I've been drinking enough I think- but the appetite is gone- Allergies so severe now. Thought i had something, but the weather's cooler after some rain showers tonight, n feel a bit better. Thanks
Lynn, I thought of you out walking in the heat there most days, n wonder if it would stop me were I in your zone- It is the humidity that makes it uncomfortable, especially when moving fast at work. I just couldn'r get used to The mugginess this time,
I'm glad you enjoyed my photos, thanks. I like those boat ripples!
I tried to comment at your blog yesterday, n couldn't get the page to open with chrome. Will try again with ie soon.
We don't have AC in the UK, we don't need it, but when we are in AZ I don't know how I'd cope without it. I hope you are okay. Is it cooler at night?
LLcoolJ, at least AZ has dry heat- this is more like the swampy Florida weather, so much water in the air making moving difficult-. During that wave the nights got down to the upper 70 F's or between 23 to 26 celcius - Ugh! Was tough sleeping. Did make me feel ill.
Your sunset shots always leave me in awe and peaceful, Snaggle. These are stunning. The ripples were a perfect touch, weren't they?
Talon, U'm glad you get such positive effects from my pretty sunset pic quest.
btw- the boat-wake shot was used for the altered pic.
WONDERFUL sunset photos, Snag -- the best!
They say that A/C was THE reason the Southern States really started getting settled and built-up.
Glad it's cooler now for you, Girl.
xoxo
JanF, thanks- always worth the short hike to the bridge for those. I believe that about the ac! I like when I don't need it most of the time-
