Good Gourd
Every year I always have a difficult time walking past the wierd looking gourds without wanting to buy them all. I like that they are so unique. I like the Heirloom pumpkins alot also.
Still, away from the normal pumpkins, they seem to lose some of their appeal. The contrast helps them stand out. Juxtaposition can be very useful in design.
I have such a difficult time breaking up my altered image pic series once assembled in a post on ESR. In a way I think they lose meaning away from the original image.
I still remember the first Autumn Foliage pic I altered onto an unexpected, very appealing, abstract image. I still like the whole series together, but maybe that one is a perfect Fall image.
My decs are very minimal lately. Hopefully I get to my little window project of putting glow-in-the-dark spiders on a creepy cloth soon.
I know folks who go all out on scary stuff. Wish I could go see it all. Yep, I have to work again.
A scary film I watched on dvd recently is "Ex Machina". I liked the ending. Good effects too.
I spent a whole dollar on a mini-pumpkin gourd. It's about the same size as a tomato from my garden...
(But I wanted them all)

Mum
After a few chilly nights it still hasn't frosted right here, probably due to the proximity of ocean water. I actually picked a handfull of green beans out of the garden today! That's quite unusual for halfway thru October. Plus, I have a ton of ripening Beefsteak Tomatoes in the house to use. I'll find a good use for the free food.
Saw the new Wonder Woman film out on dvd last week, n I was very impressed with what they did, so I recommend it to action hero fans.
The Chrysanthemums in front of the market I used for these pics are now all sold! I like the color combo all together in a flock here, but I am really allergic to them! So none for me...
Not much computer time this week, either. Paranoid of the tablet getting hacked before there is a patch also! But as usual I am reading!
These colors are pretty cheery, even if Fall is stalling a bit...

Late Beach Weather
We've been having the most unbelievable hot n humid weather all the way until yesterday here. Still warm enough for short-sleeves for my errand run. Usually by now the storm windows would be down n the furnaces on to keep warm.
I've worn a hoodie maybe 3 times since the end of August.
I can't help but think we'll pay for this in snowfall later. Perhaps we'll get a very mild cold season instead tho, I hope.
I've been waiting for cooler air so I don't get so over-heated at work n cool off faster.
Sniffles have already been passed around at work, n outdoor ragweed allergies are pretty bad now. I'm taking alot of Benedryl to get thru my shifts.
I've been achy like coming down with something too.
Looks like I'm coming up with Halloween theme pics early from this one ...
I like so many of these.
Last week I made it to my old village for a short beach n pier walk. This is an image from the pier, just before I left. I may use more of these later.
I walked on the beach without any other folks there, but before I left the pier a some were there.
Now back to cooler days again.

Flowers
What a truamatizing news week ! To me it feels similar to how I felt for days after the 911 attacks - glued to the news n feeling like my everyday stuff to do is unimportant.
Why would anyone want to be remembered for doing a huge crime like that? Killing the most in a public mass shooting?
Turns out thanks to FB, I found out my cousin's husband was there in Las Vegas for a work convention. One of his partners, a mother of 3, was one of the killed. Folks from everywhere go to that place.
They had no clue what stakes they were gambling with...
Yet, so many folks around me here continue their day to day like nothing happened. They are able to ignore it n feel it has nothing to do with them.
But for me I wonder as I walk down the street, go to a festival, go see a film, or just to the store - if some hell - bent maniac will decide to end a bunch of lives just because they can.
I hope whatever took away the shooter's respect for life, God, n rights of those around him never happens to anyone again. There is no justification for all of these killing acts. And so little we can do about it.
We all do our best to teach our children the basics of good n bad, but can't control what they ultimately decide to do with their lives. Hopefully we can learn the right lessons from such a horrific event, without someone trying to do even more damage for the notoriety...
Flowers for the numerous victims - living n deceased.
