OId Hat

I get the silliest n weirdest stuff of out of my altered scenery pics. I got a hat collection out of this shot, taken on a new Cam card last week. This odd looking dude seems to be wearing a foot-ball pigskin Viking-horn hat.

We keep the horns for this one, trading for green, n there's a little guy reaching hands out at us on the hat model's shirt logo...

The Purple Horned-Owl Hat is totally cool! But I'm not sure what happened to the hat model- he seems to've lost his ferocious, bold nerve n wimped out... n his shirt has a baby-blue Gremlin on it. Remember the movie Gremlins? I want to see it again. (Never feed them after Midnight, n never, ever, get them wet)!

This pic is old hat for ESR, the M-cove at sunset from the D-bridge showing a pretty sky. The sunset angle went so far over this past January, that it wasn't across the water from here! I'd stopped taking pics of it from the bridge because it was over trees to the side instead... Another obvious indicator of the Axis shift evidence to me several weeks ago.

N speaking of Old Hat, I missed seeing the Oscar Awards with Billy Crystal n really wanted to see it. Watching little news clips of it really isin't the same...

Axis

After several decades of getting out of my vehicle in the same spot at home, n looking up at the stars after dark, this winter I've noticed a big difference in the small section of sky I'd had memorized for seasons n times of night.

Now I most often get home under Draco instead of Bootes, n the Corona Borealis which was so easy to find is way over, hard to see. For weeks I'd wondered why I wasn't recognizing the formations but thought it must be my tired state n really didn't have time to dwell on it.

Last summer the night sky hadn't seemed so drastically different, but since last May I've noticed different sunrise/sunset location n angle ascention/descention of the Sun from the usual previously noted places for many years from my windows.

Image by SnaggleTooth Feb 2012When I earlier stated "Perhaps the Earth's axis has shifted" I wasn't pretending. I was surmising it had happened, due to the stars change of location I've noticed. Then it would explain all the strange nature happenings of weather n animals out of whack too.

Then just this week I finally did a quick search to see what popped up. I'd truelly forgotten the part in the news about the big Japan Earthquake changing the planet's axis last March, but remember the tectonic plate shifting the Island of Japan 8 feet over...

Perhaps the stars were just more noticable to me with the season change due to the small section I always see in the early am between the house n the car. I'm still wondering why more folks haven't been mentioning it.

Perhaps dolphins navigate by the stars. I wonder if whales, geese, fish, n other migrations will get off course without the Sun n Moon's normal position relative to land. Also I wonder what lasting effects this will have on climate n weather conditions.

Had you noticed the changed night sky?

More

More of the pretty sunset from last week at the village pier.
More chocolate from after holiday sales to munch.
More to be sad about in reality-

Image by SnaggleTooth Feb 2012 More dolphins beached on the Cape,
More superstar death to deal with,
More stangely warm winter in the North.

More altered-pic mysteries to wonder about.
More dreams running around time.
More to come...

Scan Image by SnaggleTooth Feb 2006

I found this pic in my old "Hearts" folder from 2006 to play with today. Paper cut-outs were arranged n scanned. I have a collection of colored papers, a heart paper-punch, n ripple-scissors I play with sometimes filed away somewhere. I like the altered versions better tho!

I was going to park out on the pier, but all the spots were taken! I didn't have the heart to bump the gulls out of their places... They seemed to have very carefully placed themselves-

The Sunny Side

Sometimes it gets more difficult staying positive.
Winter does that to me, when memories have alot of space to dwell in the cold, while funds n activities slow way down.

I've got alot I could do in my free days this week, but have lost ambition due to being so over-tired. If you consider laundry, errands, n food prep for the upcoming week, I've done quite alot. So much that my feet n arms are sore. But I just hate when I clean the accoustic guitar so I can play it (dust allergy), tune it up, n then don't feel like playing anything... like happened tonight-

The news has seemed extra depressing this week, after the Patriots blew the big game. Over a hundred dolphins have been stranded on the Cape, n more again today. Hard to see such wonderful, smart creatures get so disorientated n dieing. Snow has invaded the European continent, where it hasn't in decades, cutting off towns, stranding folks, n killing hundreds of Homeless by over-exposure. Then a crazy guy who'd lost custody, axed his visiting kids. n blew them all up in his house, after leaving "I can't do this anymore" messages all over. It's difficult to keep hearing the 911 calls on the news.

Usually, I don't hesitate to express my feelings that "I don't want to do some things anymore," but I don't confuse it with "not being able to." Somewhere along the line, being tough has been drilled into my core, so I tend to put up with alot more crap than I should before reacting. Then when I get to the boiling point, I tend to implode instead of explode, taking it out on myself by thwarting my own progress, instead of hurting anyone. At least I recognize my tendency n behavior. I've just felt so hopeless to get out of this current rut tho-

I realized my tax return bux this year won't stretch far enough to cover catching up on put-off expenses n repairs. I can't get ahead this way, prices are too high. This week I'm also remembering my Dad's 21st death anniversary, weighing down my mood. He was a really big sports fan, n the Pats loss seems to've magically added more onto that.

Some folks use their blogs to vent n rant about stuff that gets their dander up. Even the news this week had a report that expressing feelings online is common, which is old news to bloggers... On ESR I'm only allowing a small slice of that to show. I'll just say I need more positive energy, so my posting has slowed down a bit recently.

Since the holidays I've slowed way down with the pic taking, knowing the cam memory card was running out soon. I got to the pier at sunset again yesterday, n it was pretty. I got a few pics before the card finally ran out. Now I 'll have to wait 2 weeks for one in the mail. The price went way up on those too.

We're expecting a little snow n more frozen air soon, followed with more milder stuff again. New England has been so weather lucky this season so far, while odd places have had snow for the first time in 50 years...

Perhaps the Earth's axis has shifted... or so it seems-

Village Harbor Sunset

Taken off the pier Weds evening, when I ran out to check the mail, this shows a strange, brightly lit, little cloud- or perhaps it's a partial, wind-contourted, contrail. The small, bright dot under it is a plane that had left a contrail a few minutes before.

All you Sports Party fans, enjoy those chicken wings n goodies, The Game, Half-Time Madonna show, n especially the fun commercials!
I'll be missing the entire show at work, n do not have a way to record it as I'd like.
Happy Superbowl Sunday Go Pats!

Strange Story

* * *
We were in the kitchen. My white-collared, grey-bearded, tall Husband was puttering about the cupboard, putting away groceries. Giggling near the table stood my pre-teen daughter, arm extended, playing string chase with her half-grown kitten skittering about the floor.

I'd been cleaning some dishes, almost done, but the sink was clogged n filling high with water. I reached over the counter n hit the garbage disposal switch, instigating a loud roar of grinding, while all else seemed to momentarily dissappear.

From my peripheral view I sensed more clamour, turned n saw the kitten legs splayed wide, landing in the sink from a huge leap. The sink was still full of water beginning to funnel down into the steel blades. She desperately clawed at the side of the sink. I scrambled to the switch, but not fast enough- through the rushing water I saw Kitty's rear feet descend into the large drainhole.

The noise lowered quickly, but far too slow. I grabbed Kitty up under her armpits, then wrapped her hanging legs in one hand n turned her to inspect the feet. One paw was missing a clean slice off it's center pad. I swiveled, holding the dripping wet, in shock, n submissive Kitty, knowing she needed a quick bandage, n I couldn't let go.

"Please Hon, Grab me the Bacitracin, Then some cotton n tape-"

Hon began searching in all the first aid storage zones, the drawer, the medicin bin, The bathroom cabinet, the travel Bag...

"I can't Find the Bacitracin!"

I stood with both hands securing kitty from further injury, n waited, n waited, with a growing sense of dread n dispair that without the Bacitracin, the wound would get infected, n the bandage would stick to the open wound. The almost empty tube had to be there somewhere, but my hands were tied!

I felt helpless, n guilty for turning on the sink disposal...

N Then I awoke.

* * *

I'd woken up several times, too groggy n unmotovated to get up yet. Some sleep study experts previously reported that folks only enter REM after 4 hours, but it's common for me to dream within minutes of falling asleep.

It was one of those quick, fall back into sleep dreams that left me with so many questions today.
..........................................................

Where did this one come from?

First of all, I wish my kitchen was large, bright, n shiny like that one, but it isin't. I don't have a sink garbage disposal. That's ok, I don't like them. I'm single now, my children are grown, moved out many years ago, n my last kitty left since '07 is over a dozen years old.

That wasn't really me there. But the core of the story- grabbing the kitty to take care of her, n the Bacitracin importance to do that- is.

Flashback:

Awhile back in High School, I raised generations of lab mice for intelligence experienents, (I attended the State Science Fair at MIT). My first old mouse, Ben, (named from the original "Willard" film), got picked on by an aggressive son. I heard them fighting n broke it up, getting him out of there. Poor Ben's ear pinae had been totally bitten off!

I gave Ben his own little cage from then on, n applied Bacitracin ointment several times per day to his ear until his wound healed. But- I kid you not- His ear didn't just heal...It grew back!

The new pinae wasn't uniformly round, as a regular mouse ear, but wavy, n larger than the non-altered one. Bacitracin's ability to heal skin made a very large impression on me.
.............................................................

Just last week I used Bacitracin on two wounds from work, the back of a heel with skin scrapped off by a malfunctioanal heavy, metal, food rack, n a large, openned blister on my right thumb knuckle. Both healed quickly with out infection.

My tube of good stuff is getting low... so guess what I bought at the store today...

Hmmm.... alot to think about there with the negative states of them in the dream applied...

Such as: water going down into the chopper hurting the cat's foot with no way to fix = Emotions churning about beliefs of female society aspects like being stuck in low-paid work, n unable to get power over the sitation... Perhaps!
