No Peepers Yet

But I sighted some crocuses.

I took these crocus pics for last week, n altered them only with cropping n reflections. I really hadn't written anything to accompany them, but I did get some Federal tax forms done.

Now I"m dragging on the state insructions which are horrible, as the line directions dissappear from the book n you have to go back n forth from the form to figure out what to do. HC adds 3 pages of form n tons of instructions with worksheets, n I always get aggravated!

What a see-saw weather ride we were on when last I wanted to post. Beautiful one day, then back to freezing, windy, chill. This week all rain in the 40 F s with wind. Today, warm n sunny- Yay no snow, (Maybe this week-end), but still, that cold rain is tough to be out in day after day.

Spring isin't really sprung here yet. All the crocuses haven't croaked yet.
 One more Day to March looking for that lamb. Seems he's been on the lamb for the most part...

Peepers are around the corner hiding too! Hope to peek at some soon...

Off The Post Path

After making a few altered images to post up at the library Thursday, I got bumped off the plan. I' ll have to post them later. The library had a sewer backup problem , n was closed when I got there! Guys were digging in a hole full of water near the path there, n some one was shop vacuuming  inside , visible thru a side door. 

Again I am posting via tablet n using old ESR pics from the google archive, with no idea which post they are from. It is my fave beach tho, probably from at least 5 years ago.

I did manage to get my Federal tax form filled out,  after wasting time getting to the library for nothing, then walking home. I didn't get to comment on what I read either! TG I didn't have any critical bill payments to do. Still will need days to get the State forms done. Those instructions are terrible to figure out.

Keep Marching

Yep, Tuesday had another bad storm to go to work early in. Tho it started out with a burst of huge flakes, after a few hours it turned to rain here, n most of the slush melted overnight so errands yesterday weren't too bad, except for icy temps n bone-chilling wind.

My biggest problem since the one-hour time ahead jump is having to get up very eary every day since then. I reached this week's Day Off needing sleep badly.

Now I'm also keenly aware I only have less than a month to get my tax instructions read n forms done now. until that stuff is all squared away I probably will pay less attention to blogging, so excuse me in case  skip a week of pics here n there in the coming weeks.

I'll be cooking up a boiled dinner This week, not only in honor of the holiday, but it was my Dad's favorite meal n today would have been his 89th Bday if he were alive. I scored 0.17 cent/lb cabbage at the store too! I'll be eating tons of that, with vinegar.

These have a bit of an Easter feel to me.

 My Star Trek movie marathon got interrupted by watching the Martin Scorsese film, "The Departed" this week, n so far it is excellent, plus full of colorful, sarcastic language. The accents n setting is Boston, The subject is crime families, law, n moles. Alot of great acting too, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, n Martin Sheen all share the action in this complicated plot.

If only tax instructions would go down so easily... Back to the grind.

Almost Green Time

Unbelievably I've been sinus sick again since Sunday night. I had about 2 days of ok nose before that one set in. I'm going on 19 weeks of not feeling well. I think I'm on my third virus, n was on antibiotics before this one. That very cold snap probably contributed to the fever plus chills I suffered, n food had zero appeal  for days. now I'm starving again, but can't eat fast.

Often I crave cake but don't get to eat any unless I have time to bake some. This week I tried a new product I'd never seen before until last week when it was in the half-price bin for .50 c. Normally I steer away from microwave goods, but decided to try Dr. Oetker instant Mug Cake, limited edition, apple Spice flavor for a quick cake fix. All you do is add milk, stir, n nuke for a minute plus a few seconds.

I am happy to report it came out well, was very easy to do, n tasted ok, kinda like Apple Jacks cereal. Now I wish I'd have bought 10 of them...

My diet is so limited now I'm not afraid of calories. I can't wait until those gums are all healed. It took all day to eat that cake. Now I want Apple Jacks cereal...

Well, I'd visited blogs n tried to comment on my tablet last week, but I messed something up. It said I needed more memory, so I cleared some cookies n history from chrome. but then, even tho I was signed in on google at blogger, it would not list my identity in the comment page n would not publish me! Each time I lost the text of the comment n it didn't work. So I apologize.

That's why my comments were missing. I did read most of it tho. there were a few cases the comment worked, but I gave up on figuring it out n was too sick to want to.

I thought of trying to sign out n in again to blogger, but I can't seem to get to the sign-out menu option...

I played around with more bright green in case some one wants to wall paper with it for Saint Patty's Day. All these round serpentine designs n rings look like Celtic things anyhow. I'm not Irish, but I do love green, n with Purple it's even better.

This one looks like Aliens wearing goggles to me.

Next I'll be having fun with the Spring Ahead time this week-end.

Nickle n Dime

Back when I was a little girl I remember going to the local "5 n Dime" store with a nickle where I could always find these little, ceramic, figurines. Some were animals, or fish, or odd items.

I used to love the soda fountain counter too, but seldom had enough cash for that. I could always afford the figurines tho. I'd buy them for gifts sometimes.

Those stores are long gone these days, but I'm still bumping into these little, odd, ceramic figurines that are free inside the Red Rose Tea I prefer for my wake up drink. I have tons of these stored away somewhere. I do like the animal ones alot.

Yesterday, I had to refill my Tea Jar n Raw sugar supplies. I laughed to see this unexpected, tiny, one-inch tall, ceramic, White House!



What timing this week after that big  presidential speech too. I try to keep most of my political beefs off ESR, but because this one struck me funny, here it is!

Of course it's been made a bit different in color n repeatedly reflected for appreciation purposes for presentation here...

Next I'd like to find the Space Shuttle one...

Even Legos came out with a "Women of NASA" series this week on the news.



I made it through Star Trek VI in the movie series this week. About to go through the Next Generation films next.
