Bluff Fluff

Looking at this altered pic, I can almost imagine the green of spring returning...

We had another day over 40F degrees n I tried to get as many things done as possible, but spring cleaning has far to go yet- As does the melting of icy, snow lumps in my yard, where the mini daffodils are still trapped under it.

The first 40F day I grabbed these pics when getting the mail. It was risky on all the slick ice getting to the center hill,( Bluff ), over the main beach n pier for these pics. Now looking out the windows today I see there's alot less, but I have little time to side-track.

I'd love to be taking a vacation in Fantasy land playing with more pics instead of being totally preoccupied moving stuff, cleaning, n painting the worst spots in here, but an insurance inspector is soon expected. Then I'll have only a total of 4 more days off before two tax forms must be sent out.  Reading the new Health Care form rules n worksheet are stressing me out.

So I predict the next few weeks postings will be light n few. I hope tomorrow's predicted snow will also be light...

Right after that's all done, I'll be in a lighter mood, n have more time for blogging.

Sno - Grey

I've been having a very busy week with ,many extra things to do.

Finally I got my boiled dinner made yesterday. At least I won't feel deprived of that this year.  It used to be my father's favorite meal, n I miss him terribly. His B-day is just before Saint Patrick's Day, n were he still alive he'd have been 85 now. Yay for salty corned beef n lots of cabbage-

The cold is still hanging on here, with the melted down, icy snow piles everywhere, especially deep in my North-facing yard which is still a few feet high. Tomorrow another winter storm warning is in affect, just in time to go back to work again. I just had not worn my boots for two whole days! At least  we're not expecting alot , n a few inches seems like nothing after what we went thru so far this year.

I've been getting all ready for spring activities like  planting seeds n finding paint cans to freshen up around here, now only need 50 F degrees again...

This M-cove zoom shot really looks like  black n white, but it's in color. I liked the glassy reflection when I was taking it. Got some fun colors n faces from it too...

I'm about to spend alot of time reading tax instructions. Joy.

Night Moves 2

I almost saved these lovely pastel colors for Easter, but didn't want to wait for another upload today before posting. They were already in Drafts.

Today was a pretty, sunny, upper 40 F. type day- just beautiful. I slept late, went out for minimal errands, then started on a big chore list. I still haven't done all the work laundry yet. That's next after this.
Need to work off the meat-ball sub I made for dinner. Been craving that all week, n the frozen Italian ones were on sale 1,5 pounds for under $5, way cheaper than the ground beef  I was going to make some with, n way less work.

Also I have been getting to eat alot of white turnips which I really like. I tried growing some last year, but they looked like small radishes from the cold spring we had. About now is when you're supposed to start seeds indoors. I'll be late getting to it this year again. Some deck plants in the backroom are still alive n may make it back out. But I did buy 4 for $1 seed packets at the Dollar Tree today. Also have garden picked seeds. Still need potting soil, n more of the warm, unfrozen  time.

This was a shoveling the driveway view facing the front path to the walkway between the porch n road. There is snow up past the height of the four porch steps. Path to front walk is shovel wide. That's MapleBeard/s trunk in front of the "false Sun" streetlamp.More of that camera magical lighting going on here.

Night Moves 1

I have a few bad photos to show off, due to liking the altered images I got from them.

This is the same composition as above with a different pallet.

To take boat ramp beach n B-cove pics I had to shovel thru a 5-foot snow plow pile by street lamp. I didn't realize the shutter was so slow until I got home. I like the curly-cues-

Also, you can tell how deep the snow was we were dealing with.

.
I hate that this cam over-compensates for night pics so they are too bright to look like night. I haven't gotten one to look like what I was seeing with my eyes at night yet. Stay tuned to expect more Night Moves...
(Almost all my major shoveling work took place in the dark)

Snowy FootSteps

Yay, the temp got above freezing finally! Boo- some nasty rain n piles of wet slush melting down all over. Every day I shovel the way to the road drain from the plow blocking it again. Everyday potholes grow more huge.

Woke up today to more wet snow piling up on the roads... Again the Cape n Southcoast are getting nailed (sigh). Guess other states are joining in the fun today. NOTE: We need sleds n sled dog rental service...

Dry snow is so much easier to drive thru, but the wet, sticky stuff is much more of a hassle.

Two Semi-trucks were stuck 50 feet apart  across the road to work in opposite directions yesterday. Both front n back clipping snow banks trying to take turns that are now to tight into parking lots to make deliveries. Poor drivers were red-faced n angry, shoveling away at mountains of wet snow in the way.

More local, weather related damages were noticed this week. The covered walkway between stores along the shopping plaza was blocked off with workman making a pile of fallen bricks, not comforting. An auto  tire store metal roof collapsed n they closed down. Businesses n economy are all taking a hit here.

The other day in the glass-covered entryway to Walmart there was a 30-ish guy in tan, insulated overalls holding a bag of groceries, while sitting on a bench eating. He was talking to a local young woman while they were waiting for rides, n I stopped to chat a few minutes after not having a cigarette he asked for.

Twenty feet away were a couple Walmart employees by the "In" door speaking to two cops. The dude was talking about being from the Lower Cape, then a moment later the cops came over, questioned n searched the guy! Turns out he'd just stolen some of that food, Plus they'd heard something had happened a few towns away he may be connected with. He had a knife in his long pocket- Now I'm glad I didn't leave that woman alone with that chatty stranger, because you never know...

I haven't walked to the cove water edge since the storm in January when this pic was taken. Since the snow has been too deep, n time eaten up by shoveling.

I have more snowy pics taken the past few weeks  (n today), but still having problems getting more good than bad ones. Some will get posted soon. Today I had to shovel a foot again-
