Fishin'

One guy is out there most evenings just fishing around to see if the big ones are running in yet...
Heard tales of some Stripers being spotted here this week.

Today a Beluga Whale was spotted in Gloucester harbor, n a 18 foot Great White was filmed from a vessel in Sandwich waters of Cape Cod Bay. I myself noted a small. translucent jellyfish at the boat ramp beach today. Suddenly the water is heating up, n here come the sea critters!

Blogland has slowed way down this summer... but I'll keep doing it, especially when I get a fun image to share like this one. Enjoy these long summer evenings while they last! Pic is from last week Day Off, still unprocessed, straight from the cam.

Update: I heard on Fox news tonight about a pod of Orca spotted off the island of Nantucket, the second species of displaced Arctic sea mammal found off the coast of Massachusetts this week! The Beluga whale is currently in the Taunton River, as read about on the  Mystic Aquarium Site. My theory is the young whale was chased  by the orca,  or other large predator long distance, so the whale is hiding...

What Next?

A beautiful summer day for Day Off after a crazy workweek of machine break-downs, n there's so much I need to do I don't know where to start...

I slept, hung out laundry, got to the stores, toe dipped in the beach water, let Mischief lounge on the deck, took some pics, processed some pics, made pizza, n finally switched machines to get online. N that's relaxing compared to the rest of the past week-

Today was the second one so far that felt summery with hot n humid conditions here. If only I'd been more rested for it. Tomorrow is another day full of errands n a pile of things vying for attention.

Usually done in May, I took the storm window off the screen door just this evening for better air flow. I'm hoping I get to cleaning the large box fan by tomorrow to help cool off the apartment better. I'm just operating two small fans so far. It's always so much easier to buy new ones, except they cost so much now.

Prices in general for goods has shot way up here this week- which is normal for tourist season, but news said it'd goods in general everywhere as well.

Fox news also reported on the location of a female Great White shark, tagged off Cape Cod last summer. "Katherine" has made it over 4000 miles around Florida into the Gulf of Mexico, near the Panhandle, n may be heading to summer near Texas this year. Guess it's still been too cool for sharks here this year also...

I already knew Whites were known to travel that far, as reported previously on ESR in a popular post, Shark Tail Soup, but now more folks will believe it. I'm willing to bet they can travel around the globe in their lifetime, n visit their Australian cousins. It's all about food, temperature, n ocean currents. Migration of species has always fascinated me.

I picked up these shell fragments on my walk today.  A recently transplanted Pansy looks good. The first ones I'd transplanted didn't make it.

Now back to deciding what's next...

May Sunset

I feel like I blinked n awoke two weeks later in the middle of June...

Here is a sunset at the M-cove from the last week of May. I think it's the prettiest shot I took that evening. Takes awhile for me to process images these days, due to switching the monitor back n forth on both machines, until I can get drivers for Win 7 down-loaded for programs without timing out on my slow modem.

Because I can only legally have one copy of the Paintshop Pro (plus other) program software on one machine at a time, I'm doing one at a time as my limited free time allows- in other words it's taking forever! The settings I'm using have to be written n transferred n saved again unless I can figure out where the saved dialog function settings are stored on the old machine. (Not there yet).

I feel fortunate it wasn't raining today, n I finally got to mow the lawn again- Last single Day Off was too wet. I needed rest anyway- Now I can barely get the chores done, I'm so backed up.

If how this week went is any indication of what summer will be like at work, I may not be too lively by August. My last pair of work-only-shoes wore a hole in the bottom in less than a month! I've estimated by the time n amount of steps I take in an average workday, that I'm probably walking 17 miles each night...

Hopefully I don't blink n September is already here!

Bug Eyes Cool

I had this image set hiding in drafts from back in March, n just really like both the altered versions I found.

I'm already so tired, after the past 4 summer order days- I wonder how non-functional I'll get after the next 6 day work marathon. The worst part is beginning it with a 12 hour shift when I'd normally be sleeping, then getting thru another busy week-end.

Again our company didn't up the workforce numbers enough to cover the extra work.

This altered image  reminded me instantly of  "Froggel" from awhile back, who was so cute- so I had to go see him again to compare this new cousin, Rosy GreenLipps with a chilly ruby heart.

I wish I had enough ambition to write up a longer story for her today, but I need a few hours of sleep, n only have time for 4 today before my Friday. Then I only get one Day Off to do all the weeks errands. including laundry n lawn mowing. Hopefully I don't forget any important supplies.

I sorely need some fun time scheduled in somewhere, besides the fun of doing horizontal Z. Just looking at this makes me sleepy...

N I feel asleep on this before pushing the publish button yesterday! Then I got bumped offline before waking up. Now finally back online, n yawning again! Will be awhile before I can sleep enough again.  I'm a sucker for golden glimmer... N silly frog beings!
