USA Thanks Day 2013

Mostly I'm Thankful to not be stuck at work tonight.. I feel bad for all the workers roped into the new Thursday Sales shopping this holiday. Also thankful the laundry is almost all done for my next work-week, so I'll relax now.

A wonderful n early Turkey dinner was for my breakfast, n leftovers followed me home for lunch round 2. Down the hill at BBM's house, there were five, bouncy, Little Ones to keep us all busy, n a table full of folks all wanting pie.

I made my Nanny's home-made dinner rolls to bring along, plus some Pumpkin Pie Bars. I used a "Krusteaz" mix. They had a spicy, cinnamon, bottom crust with pumpkin filling with a brownie-like consistency. They were a hit n all gone now.

I'm lucky I didn't need to travel. The weather is cold but yesterday's storm is over. I bet it messed up other folks plans a bit-

Pic is pretty Tiger Lilies I'd found on a walk last summer I'm thankful I had an image in drafts with orange in it- The new pics I wanted today wouldn't load yet.

I hope you all have wonderful stuff to be grateful about too- Even if it's not your holiday there...

Sounds like a beautiful Thanksgiving, Snaggle. So glad you didn't have to work. Can't imagine what the stores are like today...the traffic around town was horrendous and daughter got in an accident (she's okay and it wasn't her fault) so it's been a long and wearying day.

The lilies look so lovely...won't be long and the new crop will be showing off. :)

Glad to hear that you had a great T'giving.

Mine was good in the sense that I wasn't really overrun by childrens.

I am glad you did not have to travel and I am so thankful that I did. Both of my travel days were clear and my family time was delightful. Ron was with me in my heart while my kids and grandkids wrapped me in their love.

Talon, Way better than missing it, fpr sure. I'm just not into competitive shopping at all! Sorry your daughter had a tough day n accident- Yay she's ok! Hope the car is fixed up soon.
Those Tiger Lilies Were so Tall n vibrant- Can't believe I'd not posted them last July.

Tabor, it will seem like a long wait. Dinner was too early for me, but the kids are always fun n active, tired me out fast.

I'm glad you didn't have to work and you got nearly all your laundry done.

The Pumpkin Pie Bars sound good. Here in the UK we rarely eat any pumpkin at all!

It's been turkey dinner for breakfast here for two days now, yummy! Just turkey and gravy left now -- all the stuffing, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, squash and peas gone now. Oh, and cranberry, lots of that left. I stocked up with 3 cans last week.

How wonderful for you to bring your Nanny's recipe! And now you are the nanny to 5 bouncing cuties.

Yes, so many people having to work on Thanksgiving day now. And I stay HOME Black Friday, have for some years now.

Laundry? Oy, our washing machine is broken. Prob. just needs a belt. I'll be hand washing again tomorrow! But it'll only take an hour or 2, and luckily I have 2 good sinks, a wonderful bucket, and the dryer works great! I'm gonna have to find a laundrymat on Monday if the machine is not fixed by then, because the towels are almost all needing cleaning. Oh well, we'll get it sorted!! :)

Take care and thanks for the summer pic.

Pretty flowers! I'm glad you had a happy Thanksgiving. My friend just made those Krusteaz pumpkin bars - they ARE good.

LLcoolJ, I like holidays on Day Off, except it limits my weekly free time more. Tough to find things to do with pumpkin, I think- None grown in the UK probably. Thanks

Jannie, Sweet potatoes are the first to disappear here, topped with marshmallows... I had fresh cranberries here n made my own sauce. Cans have High fructose corn syrup. Still, I always eat it up- love those! Then there's Cran-apple pie I like too.
BBM has the other side cousins over there to get some girls in. Nothing better than homemade bread-
Even if I have a holiday Off, Laundry can not wait- darn! I have buckets and the tub again after waiting all last year to get that plumbing done. I'm very happy to have the tub drain working again! Hard to get to the laundrymat before closing time, n they're closed holidays here. Very costly now too- Good luck with the Fixing fast! Thanks

Lynn, Better Lilies in person, but a good color for the occasion I think. Bet yours was great- n Yes, the bars are wonderful n addictive after you eat two... Want some next year too.
