I gave myself an award! Well,
Joey said I could...
N he got the idea from
Jeannie. Plus I could think of answers when I was reading the questions on Joey's new list, saving time...
What is a Liebster Award? What does it mean?
"German To English - Liebster
(der) n. sweetheart, beloved person, darling"
N then There's a foundation:
Arnold Liebster Foundation "Purpose of this foundation is to promote peace, tolerance, human rights and religious freedom through education.
That's a noble cause...
I had to look it up, because I didn't know what it meant, even with the heart after the title...
What rules? Everybody makes their own here- We're artsy folks in Blogland! I was gonna use Jeannie's questions, but actually came up with a few during this refreshing T-storm we're having, cutting off my connection...
There are 11 info things about you or make up more questions. Pick n choose, mix n match! Whatever!
"Do or Do Not, There is No Try..." (Thanks Yoda)
(I Kinda altered the award picture... The larger one is what I love doing, finding faces in sunsets again)
...................
11 questions Joey thought up Plus my answers:
1. Do you tend to hold grudges against people who have done you wrong?
Of course I never feel the same about them again. I don't get revenge, but don't tend to like or speak to those folks again.
2. If your blog had a theme song, what would it be? Why?
Gilligan's Island- So much water, boats, n dinghy pics here. Plus
the lyrics were posted on ESR ages ago-
twice!
I'd put an original tune up but am afraid of steal-age...
3. What is the most daring thing you've done recently?
I drove 830 miles in two days without sleeping. Then later I involuntarily drove home from work without having a brake pedal to use. All chronicled previously on ESR. I haven't swum with the sharks yet, maybe tomorrow...
4. Do you like your life right now?
Some things I like: Where I live, my cat Mischief, eating ice cream, my curly hair, local folks
Somethings I don't : my stressful job, when the truck needs fixing, when folks don't let me sleep, I need more free time, ...
I'm not sure which wins-
5. What was the last lie you told?
I didn't swear out loud at a work peson who really got me mad making me do extra things because they were lazy. More of an omission-
6. Is there anything hanging from your rear view mirror?
A dangley, pewter, Betty Boop sitting on a carroussel horse my Big Sis gave me when I drove the truck to Florida in '01. "Boop, boop, de doop!"
7. Do you consider yourself successful?
I'm successful at taking sunset pics usually. But the geese came out all blurry! I was a successful single parent for decades.
I could use alot more play time n money tho...
I'd like to get some books out, art out, songs recorded, games developed, n movies made. Then I might feel a little more furfilled.
8. What was the first music album that you bought?
- "Revolver" - Beatles in '73
9. Do you feel you express your "true self" on your blog?
Sometimes it's a journal for me. But I do make an effort not to rant about all the stuff really ticking me off every day. The list is long! Then there's the protecting identity thing. I leave alot out- but explain enough I think to begin to understand me.
10. Would you ever give a hitch-hiker a ride somewhere?
When I was a teen I hitched a few rides with unknown people, n all turned out well, TG! If I saw a car breakdown n someone needing help far away from other help- probably. I used to walk everywhere around here, so don't feel too sorry for local folks who just don't wanna walk- but I have picked up a few people I knew in the rain before-
11. Have you ever acted like you understood something when you didn't have a clue?
I work with alot of people who speak almost zero English. Mostly they speak Creole n Portuguese. I believe in non-verbal communication. When I speak a bit in their language sometimes they say alot quickly that I don't get- but nod, yep!

12 Comments:
Enjoyed reading this and learning more about you, but must say that last shot was a very nice reward at the end.
That was fun to read - I feel that I know you a little better now. Loved the present your sis gave you for lil truck.
Beautiful sunset photo - keep 'em coming.
Memes are too stressful:)
Tabor, Glad you enjoyed reading it- been awhile since I was last inspired to Meme. That was a pretty sky- rather unique. Thanks
Lynn, Glad I wasn't too boring- n revealed a bit about myself too. I watched Betty Boop as a teen after a friend brought her to my attention. I hung out with some cartoonist types. You wouldn't believe how many I've decided not to post!
Gran Annie, That comment goes with your profile picture so well! I think getting tagged makes it stressful.
Hey thanks so much for joining in, I learnt a load more about you and your interests and dreams too. I loved our answers.
I have to admit I didn't take the time to find out what the Award meant and I should have. That was interesting too.
I'll try and answer your questions here.
1. What's your idea of a good birthday activity? A meal out with the family, or going to see a musical.
2. Do you have a Favorite movie? Schindler's list
3. Do you have a favorite Movie song? Best Things In Life are Free - Mo' Money
4. Do you dance at weddings? No I never dance
5. When you don't know an answer do you guess anyway or leave it blank? I try to guess.
6. Do thunder n Lightning storms frighten or fascinate you? Fascinates me, I'm not frightened. They are exciting.
7. Is there anything on your kitchen table which doesn't really belong there? Oh the kids leave all their stuff on the kitchen table all the time. Often I'll leave one of my caps there too.
8. What's the last thing you impulse bought not on the shopping list? Just today I bought 4 strawberry and fresh creams tarts.
9. When faced with a, b, c, d, multible answer choices, do you always choose "e- none of the above"? Nope not really. :D
10. Do you like doing Memes or is it too stressful?
I love doing them. It helps me to focus my brain.
11. Do you have a favorite number? 4. It just looks so nice and even. :D
ha! #1 from Joey's list: I *still* strongly dislike Clarissa C. from the day she broke my Skip-it at Girl Scouts... Her mom was troop leader and forced me to share it when even I wasn't using it (I had brought it to school for recess), and she whacked it against the swing set that was at the church. She never apologized and I still get all fired up when I think about it. I was so upset! But like you I never did anything bad or mean to her and was always pleasant to her in band..
- You always did love Martin Short in that movie (Inner Space)
-I think my first album (and by that I mean cassette) was either a New Kids on the Block or maybe the Aladdin soundtrack. When I got older my music tastes greatly improved to Nirvana and such.
- a good birthday activity? Brownie sundaes- hands. down.
- favorite movie? I must say I think it's still Dirty Dancing. I love me some Patrick Swayze
- favorite movie song? first things that come to mind are the ones we did colorguard routines to, the themes from Batman and Pee Wee Herman. I *might* still do some sabre routine motions when I hear them.
-Dance at weddings? Sometimes, but usually yes if I know the crowd or if the music is good
- I always guess at unknown test answers. Hey maybe I'll get the points if I get right. Same thing with Trivial pursuit, and I have been right a good portion of the time.
-Storms? I like them if I feel safe, but I absolutely loathe them if I am driving through them and lighting is crashing all around me. I get very anxious- and this only in the last 5 years or so and for no particular reason.
-Kitchen table mess? oh yes! pretty much everything that is on the table doesn't belong there, and it drives me batty, but due to lack of storage we have many things that are homeless and end up there.
-impulse shopping? My coffee and muffin I bought this morning because it's paycheck friday
-multiple choice? not always all of the above, so I choose it if it feels right
-memes? depends on my mood but often I like to do them. See I'm doing it now and I wasn't awarded with any internet award :P
-favorite number? meh. not really
I will be visiting Labor Day weekend. I plan on coming down friday evening- Monday. Party at BBM on Saturday 3 ish until whenever, and a PC party on Sunday @2 (not at/for BBM)
LLcoolJ, I liked answering your meme questions, thanks for the creative inspiration. "Schindler's List" makes me cry alot. But you do the "YMCA" dance, right? when I was little I used to run out in the storms, n folks were afraid to come get me- Clothes on the table? 4 does seem to fit you... Thanks!
MB, Well, some folks don't understand careful, n that replacements weren't easy to get. That's a long grudge- Yep, I still can see Martin doing the twist to that tune in my head! Funny! I like "Unchained Melody" from "Ghost" Too (more Patrick).
Storms- Well with the damage seen of the last Tornado near there, I don't wonder why!
He-he- your table is also a homeless shelter!
Hope to see you soon, of course I'm required to work all those days! Guess I'll not sleep to see you before work.
Thanks for answering!
Creole and Portuguese, eh? Interesting tidbit.
I am about the same with grudges as you, don't let it eat me up and get on with life.
Sounds like you did a very good job as a single parent. Your off spring is a great testament to your good deeds.
Ice cream, eh? What's your favorite.
I'm eating butterfinger now, yummy -- straight from the freezer.
xooxxo
JanF, Creole is the native language of Cape Verde btw- no kids got in major trouble or arrested, went to college, n moved out- that's how I know. I like Turkey Hill or Eddy's chocolate with whipped cream when possible! N cherries. No crunchy butterfingers for me- Lucky you.
Kewl blog post. I think that this must be some kind of record for you, in regards to blog post length. :D
G, I've done a few longer ones, like "Shark Tail Soup," n "Island Food review" - I've done a few other Memes like "5 things about you", "I've got so many" (Bad Habits), n Rypos always seem long to me because they take so long to put together. There may be others I can't think of now, especially before I got a cam-
Can;t believe I forgot about this long post project "Parking"
