Yo

I seem to be going thru Round III of a cold / flu bug this week. I can't take time off work with the limited hours available now- unless I'm non-functional. I can still stand up, but really haven't felt good the past few days. I've been taking benedryl n mucus relief. My poor nose is so dry it keeps bleeding when I try to blow open a path

The ice finally melted a bit so I could finish some shoveling out front. Still haven't been able to clear the outdoor side stairs tho. Finally got the outdoor extension cord un-trapped from the ice on the deck too, after locating the ice pick. It's been like the permafrost on the tundra around here this week...

Altho I really just want to sit down n relax, I can't afford to yet. I'm expecting an insurance guy to inspect the house in another week, n I'll be clearing out some old stuff. I really hate the old mail piles n ripping up old bills chore. Time consuming, I  wish I had a shredder...

Yesterday I finally got about six large broken limbs off the yard dropped from that icy storm. One more to go another day, n it must be chopped up, because it's too heavy to lift.

There's so much to do in the next few weeks, I doubt I'll get to a fraction of what I want to do. Tough feeling motivated in this cold too. I'm up for just watching tv under blankets with the hot water bottles today-

The water's been looking a bit icy- Here's a pic of the D-bridge up the snowy shore to the right side, where I take so many sunset over the cove pics seen on ESR.

Stay in bed and rest. Unless you need to get out of the house or get people in, most of the outside work can wait until spring. Take care of the cold. Then worry about the other stuff.

You are not doing yourself any favors by trying to move forward under such illness. This bug seems to be everywhere and it also seems to take a second round on lots of folks. Remember if God can't get you to sit down and rest, He will knock you down:) I feel a constant worry about your dire circumstances with no one to lean on.

Oh no - I'm sorry you are sick. I agree with the others - stay home and rest.

I was reading the flu season is a more pronounced that last year.

If you have a humidifier or vaporizer you might want to try breathing in the steam from it to help soften up your nasal cavities so you can breath.

And chicken soup is your friend with his pal OJ. :)

if the insurance guy is coming, the landlord should take care of the yard work- which they should do anyway, even though they never have. i wonder why the company has to come anyway. I have never once had to have an insurance person come into my home. Is it because it's a rental?

anyway, Have you ever tried soemthing like a neti pot?
i have never used one, btu I knwo many who have and who swear by them... it involves saline solution. If you have vaseline try coating the inside of your nose with it to help with the dryness. If there was a walk in place in town I would suggest going there, so you can get a script for antibiotics. I know you don't have the money to go to the doctor though :/ hang in there, and I hope you feel better soon!

Tabor, wish I could stay home but it isin't an option. I don't get paid time off, n there's no one else to do the work here Before the inspection. It's important.

Gran Annie, I've been doing things on my own a long time here. I can't afford to collapse until two weeks from now- I'm counting the days! Thanks

Lynn, I can't, but thanks. The house needs a new insurance policy, n I have to make the rent on cut hours.

Neo, I constantly hang up wet laundry by the heater to get the humidity up, (have a meter) n always boil tea water for the steam. I eat homemade chix soup often. Making frozen OJ today already. At work I can't do any of that tho! Thanks

MB, I told her n no one came! I don't want them dumping in the wrong part of the woods anyway, or I'll still have to move it! It's in case of flood or hurricane damage for the bank I believe.
I rinse out with warm salt water several times a day, every day for the allergies. I use coconut palm oil for that. It's just been too dry, too many allergens, n plus the cold. Now I have a tooth-ache on top of it- thanks I hope so too.
Will be a long few weeks...

I've been ill since Boxing day too Snaggle. It's no fun at all. I have to admit I haven't been shovelling snow though. You should try and take it easy if you can!!

LLcoolJ, I'm a nervous wreck about getting most of the house squared away in the next week- Haven't had time for it in awhile. Been ill too long this season. Most folks give up alot quicker than me. After this I'll be lounging a bit for sure! Thanks.

Buddy,hi, thanks for the news. I have a ton of old bills to shred- n hope you call me very soon.

Maybe you can find a burn pile somewhere for those old bills and papers. Or maybe Buddy Doxie found that shredder.

Hope you're rested up some now, my dear. Try to get as much as you can when you can. All else can wait, when you're not at work.

xoxo

JanF, too bad I don't have a woodstove... Buddy is too busy being sick to call yet- I'm out of time! I have an inspection n have to clean! Have to get done what I can no matter how tired I am- After I'll rest more. Hope I make it to next week...

Neo, I only eat PB & banana on whole wheat at work- already carry about 20 lbs of clothes, drinks, n supplies with me every day. Would need another hand for that thermos... I'll eat it at home tho

Well ya know, science has come a long way Ev. Maybe we can have them get you to grow a 3rd arm with another hand?

Would be pretty useful playing piano. :)

At 2:30 AM, Blogger Snaggle Tooth said...

Neo, that would be great! Just like those frogs with a fifth n sixth legs! But where to grow it from... Top of my head? Middle of my chest? ???

At 3:37 PM, Blogger Neo said...

Probably somewhere on the leg. Then you wouldn't have to bend over to tie your shoelaces. LOL

There used to be spots we fished at in Philly where it wasn't unusual to catch things growing with "extra parts," that was usually near chem plants. Hmmmm wonder why that was?

You and New are so funny with your banter.

Yeah, a wood stove for sure would come in handy with all that wood around. maybe you can have a backyard bonfire sometime? xo

At 11:27 PM, Blogger Jannie Funster said...

I mean Neo, not new. Tho come to think of it, they both mean the same thing, eh?

At 3:47 AM, Blogger Snaggle Tooth said...

Neo, good idea... That floating key-tone laquer thinner can be really stimulating to swim in I guess...
So far every toad I caught at work this year is only 4-legged.

JanF, yep, We've had alot of practice in the past 8 years. Think I'm supposed to go check somewhere now. My yard is too small for a safe firepit away from trees or homes. besides,that- I'd rather not pay the elec co for heat anymore!

JanF, neo means new anyhoo! La meme chose- I just corrected the typo "JznF"!

At 5:50 AM, Blogger Neo said...

Snag - I hear the coffee over at Crazy Jannie's place tastes like that!

Just don't light up a smoke while drinking it!

*ducks*

At 2:27 AM, Blogger Snaggle Tooth said...

Neo, I prefer to think of her as Fun Jannie- highly flammable? Highly laughable too! Vinte!

I've been slackin' here...

Just make sure you hide the beer and donuts. She's got a nose for them!

*runs off to hide his beer*

At 2:20 AM, Blogger Snaggle Tooth said...

Neo, yep, even after taking down her "Singing for Beer n Donuts" header that Lance won in a contest awhile back. Don't put the beer outside- it'll Freeze Solid!

At 11:26 PM, Blogger Neo said...

That's a Canadian beer cooler! Open the door; instant spot to keep your beverages cold. Just check on them ONCE AND AWHILE. ;)

At 9:57 PM, Blogger Snaggle Tooth said...

Neo, I thought they'd be Frozen Solid after a half hour....
