Reason #53

.
.
.
Why I'm PO'd at the new kids down stairs. They have four appropriated parking spaces, plus across the street, but choose to ruin n drive over every inch of the lawn instead of using the driveway.
.
In this village, large yards, n having any lawn at all is rare. There's maybe four as large as ours in an eight block radius.
.
I've spent over twenty years taking care of this yard, raking n mowing, pulling weeds, ect- just to watch them ruin the previously best part of the lawn in a couple weeks. It was frozen n covered with snow when they started. After it melted they could see the grass, n mud-ruts getting deeper, but didn't stop driving on it.
.
Would you raise a fuss over this? Would you call the landlord to complain, or knock on the door as a disgruntled neighbor?
(I'm afraid I'd loose my cool if I did, because I'm so angry)...

It's so upsetting to see all your hard work laid to waste!
It would be nice if you could knock on the door and explain the situation. I can totally understand your anger, but I think the best thing to do is let the landlord handle it.

I would be pissed too!
Definitely let the landlord know, he will likely be pissed because he has to fix the lawn, he might be able to take it out of their security deposit! You might just have a new lawn soon.
I pray you find more blessings in the melting than curses...

Xray, good to see you back in ESR Comments. These are the landlords relatives- n I'll have to fix the lawn, or not have one. City people just don't get how we like our green- thanks

Depends I guess on how good you find your landlord to be. Does he usually help out? I would give him a try first, and if that doesn't seem to work out, someday when you're calm perhaps have a "little friendly chat" with the ingrates.

Chaps my buttocks to see disrespect like that.

JanF, The landlord lives near Boston, n won't do any work here until summertime. I shudder to think what it'll look like by then! Thanks for your opinion.

Fleen, They are young, so that thought of an immature response has crossed my mind. I value the green space here much more than those city-slickers! Thanks

how many people do they having living down there, if they've been given 4 parking spaces?! and then where are you supposed to park.. or God forbid YOU should have company.

I would let the landlord know about it. It's coming up to mud season and if they keep this business up they'll end up in China! does he have email? perhaps you could email him some pictures.

you could go down and say "hey, I know it's easier than moving cars, but you're killing the lawn and the landlord will have your balls in his hands if he sees this" (well you don't have to say it that way :) ) mention mud season.. cars getting stuck and then add "if it deosn't stop I'm going to notify the landlord"

I don't think once in all our years living there we drove on the lawn!! maybe once... and yet they don't seem to care after being there only after a short time. Maybe we can get C to go beat them up. lol

MB, I'm thinking the landlord has no clue they're doing that (They didn't ask). The lawn is so uneven now, it already needs fixing by a major filling in. There are marks going down-hill the other way to the driveway too!
I've only been blocked from my spot twice now... n blocked in so I couldn't get to work once too. How many people? 4 on average, for 2 supposed to be there.

David, I held back my reaction for some time knowing I'm too angry to even begin explaining to them how I feel about this- without wigging out. TG they aren't here this week.
