The Longest Day
I am such a Blog-Slacker this year...
Officially I have not blogged for an entire month all year for the first time since I began ESR in 2005 - 14 whole years ago! Welcome Summer Solstice, I finally have it Off!
14 years ago this week I also began working at the current job I hate, because it gets me so over-tired in my free time. I have a few more vaca days right now, due to asking for it before n not being allowed near Memorial Day. They still owed me from last year, n now I have reached that start date again, so they owe me 2 more paid weeks, (not allowed during busy Summertime).
They have actually been holding onto a week of my money since 2013, when I wasn't allowed to take it because other folks called Dibbs all spring. I was assured I wouldn't lose the week, but the manager did later keep deleting it from the vaca file when owing me popped up year after year. How frustrating...
After getting back from the library, I watched a borrowed dvd yesterday. A 2006 film "RV" starring Robin Williams I'd never heard of or seen before. It was funny enough in a few places to start laughing
The big thing in the film that surprised me toward the end of the story, was realizing from a facial expression, that the child / son character "Carl" was being played by the same guy who was "Peeta Mallark" in the Hunger Game series of films, Josh Hutcherson. Coincidentally, a few hours before I had just purchased The first Hunger Games dvd, at a clearance sale for $1.50, completing my series set!
I couldn't remember how long ago Robin died, n looked it up. Only 5 years ago in August 2014. I then read an Article in The Guardian from a year later where his widow explained his illness, Dementia with Lewey Bodies disease, confirmed post-mortem, on top of Parkinson's Disease. It causes physical / motor function mistakes, such as he had mis-negotiated a door n got hurt.
Mis-negotiating has happened to me alot recently, due to a bad eye needing cataract surgery. I'm not looking forward to cleaning out my bank account for that, but my sight being good again is probably worth it.
Reading has gotten very tedious, n paperwork is tougher because I have to do it all with one eye. Been back-logged on keeping up because it gives me eye-strain head-aches.
I am waiting awhile for the next few appointments. Meanwhile I have a family visit to eat-up my free time, n have so much I want to do in my few days.
Blogging is one of the things. At least I could!
Images today were left in the order they were obtained, with the exception of the first.

Is there any chance you could make a job change? Look in a new area?
Tabor, I have not yet found a full-time job for better pay that I can get to. (no car.). Most available spots here now are seasonal, n folks will get laid off after Summer.Or Temp until Xmas. Some stores here like Family Dollar plus Salvation Army are going out of business right now. Retail/food pay minimum wage. Almost all I have seen for year round are part-time/ Min. wage.
I'm about to go back n get totally exhausted again! Thanks for reading.
I vacillate between being a Blog Slacker and Blogging Mania... not a very balanced approach, but I do still so Love the Land of Blog even tho' it seems to eclipsed since it's heyday. So many have moved on to other Online Communities like Instagram etc. and I'll probably end up one of the Blogging Dinosaurs, much like I was one of the last of the Letter Writers. Loved the Art, it was nourishment to the Soul!
Bohemian, I was alot more motivated in the past. Not having the free time for this and facebook is a big problem - But I do love blogging! The freedom of it. I too miss the written card notes that used to get sent to everyone. Most of those folks have passed on. My kids call me "Retro" for doing this. Welcome to ESR n Thanks for the comment!
Blogging is fun but hard work, and going on other peoples blogs to comment too. I enjoy reading but I could spend all day every day commenting. I just don't have the time especially in the summer when there's so much to do outside.
I like all your images as usual!
LLcoolJ, Yep I can relate. I have been all out of energy from being busy, plus my eyes are having trouble reading for long times. Then I have to comment from the library- So I do read (your blog)usually long before I can comment. Life has been very busy here this Summer. I want to write alot more than I get to lately. Thanks
