I actually found some pink n red stuff in this week's pic to play with- Just in time for the Feast of St Valentine.

Finally got bird pics from the window this week.
But today I dropped my cam n don't know if I 'll get it to snap up n work again! First try didn't work- Will try again later at home.
Is this Valentine's Day thing for the birds? I still like the excuse to do artwork for it...

Valentine's Day is a commercial approach to getting money out of folks in February. It is great if you are totally head over heals in love and want to impress someone. I have been married 45 years and have no need to find some expensive or special expression to assure my husband I will still be here next year!
I just read something on facebook about how cheesy red roses are - I still kind of like them though. It used to be quite a thing, when I worked at my corporate job, seeing how so many gals got flowers at the office on V-Day. My ex-husband used to have them for me at home, which I thought was just as good. :)
Now I think it's just a fun holiday to say I love you to my family members.

I love how in the first one you can see hearts and butterflies, the hearts back-to-back make the butterflies!

I bought 3 $1 candles on sale from Yankee for the hubs and a card with 2 bunnies on it, because the previous evening we saw 2 wild bunnies in the hotel parking lot playing!!! We were listening to the SC Rep. debate in the car and I spied 1 bunny, then 2. So so so cute, romping together. I wonder where they live??!!!! Then, next day (Val. day) Kelly's gymnastics meet wasn't until 4:00 so we had plenty of time to go to the mall close to the meet arena (also very close to our hotel.) I chanced upon the bunny card in the wonderful paper shop. And Kelly bought a card for her dad and me. And that was Val. day. Plus 1 of her team-mates gave them each a nice little bag of sweets. Speaking of SWEET... The Kellster won 2nd in the All Around, out of 21 in her Level 7 age division --- tough competition. She did great!!!!! Made 9.65 on bars, 9.45 on beam, 9.2 on floor and 9.150 on vault. I put her beam video on FaceBook.
Oh, and I did manage to send Val cards to my folks with photos!! THey are still not yet on Internet, but should be very very soon, which is exciting!!!

Tabor, Definitely more fun for the young I think- You are correct about the money thing-
Lynn, Some folks are about "status" appearance, n some are about real like you- I like to gift candy to the young myself. Didn't get to this year.
Gran Annie, I still can't picture this stuff on tiles or weavings- Still think they'd make nice Doctor office posters while you have to wait tho. I did attend UMass Dartmouth when they merged with Swain School of (textile) design. Those degrees used to make money awhile back.
Jannie! where have you been? You gave in to the holiday gifting! Good for your family tho- I'd still like a rose every now n then.

Yep, super scores at her meet in Dallas!!! But she will not be able to make her final meet of the season tomorrow, due to a bad flu that hit her on Wednes. and she's still recovering. Shoot. And the meet is here in Austin. But she will probably be well enough tomorrow to go and watch her mates, we hope!
Where have I been??? Facebook. Some Instagram. Bulletin Board at the gym. A lot of songwriting and going to Song Doctor song circle many Tuesday nights, with new tunes. Writing snailmail letters to a lot of my family home in Canada. Running the roads. Cleaning house once in a while. A lot of eBay. Sorting a TON of stuff, a lot went to GOodWill. Sleeping... :)
Was ready to post to my blog. like last month, then I had a problem due to some timestamp code, or something, that needed to be updated. Then... Wordpress magically updated itself at my blog, and now I can post again!!! I plan to next week. have to go to our library Tuesday first, when they have free tech day, advice and such. Can't bring pix over from Kelly's old iPhone until I consult someone, it went on the blink for Internet.
Sorry I've not been here so much. Nothing personal, tho -- of course!!!!!!
