Yes I think it's a very important thing to remember all the people that have lost their lives, and continue to, so that we can have our freedom.
Very nice.
Always great to see these kind of photo montages with the weather being so perfect, as if God specifically decided to wait until the appropriate moment to unleash his very best for such a solemn occasion.
That's lovely Snaggle. Especially the last one with its monuments.
Beautiful post and picture.
I love that we have a special day to celebrate Veterans.
Thank you to all who have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice for us.
You did good, Snag, real good.
Thank you.

Btw readers, The flags were at half-mast due to Ted Kennedy's passing.
LLcoolJ, In the USA, today is a National holiday, Veterans Day, when military folks all over parade down the main roads n the bank is closed. Of Course I had to work, Thanks
G, I thought of your flag pic when I posted it- I love that perfect, summertime mountain weather too! So unlike the low-light, overcast we've been whining about. thanks

K, Welcome to ESR. Thanks. I especially like the mountains in the BG. Wish I could've celebrated more.
Talon, here here! ATTN thanks for joining me in my salute, even tho you're in another Northern Country!
JanF, Thanks for the kind words about my offering today- Of course the tough part for me is finding those pics cause I can never remember the date I took them...
When we went to VT last, we stopped at that very same rest stop and admired the monuments
Very nice photos. That day we war the blood of heroes over the left side of our heart, representing both loss and hope,a torch for eternal life.
MB, wow- Too bad we weren't there the same week. I don't remeber it being there in '04. I think it's great you were having vaca in a place of ancestral roots!
RoseD, Thanks, interesting remembrance, in a way we all wear the sacrifice!
we went 2 summers ago, when we went to go see Champ with our friends
MB, I went camping in a cabin on the lake in Winooski as a 7-year-old-
