Tide Out
.
.
How ironic...
Folks make bailers out of the most available bottle. I hope they didn't rinse the soap out of this in the cove, it would kill off living things with phosphates. Every spring I walk around the hill area collecting bags full of garbage. It usually takes many days. The amount of crap out there is unbelievable! I bet some folks still think the town does it...
I'm always appalled by the amount of trash (the big things in the last few years are paper coffee cups and water bottles) that's around. Every time I walk the dogs or take a drive to shoot some photos, I find myself picking up trash. It's disheartening how so many people think the planet is just one big garbage can. Our city is good about providing trash cans, etc., but even that isn't enough to get the litterbugs to actually put the trash in the proper place.
You ladies are deinitely part of the trash solution. I wonder if some of the stuff flies out of the back of pick-ups. People should be more careful. If we all pitched in what a wonderful world it would be.
The Tide bottle reminds me of some lyrics in the first song on Joni Mitchell's "For THe Roses" album, the first of her CDs I ever had.
Talon, Every spring I spend my limited free time picking up what makes me sick to look at here. The woods across the street is a small, federally protected spot for endangered plant species, which people are killing off with crap n illegal mini-bikes. I love nature n hate the way it gets treated by most humans. We can not replace what is being lost! Thanks for your empathy.
JanF, wish I could get all the neighbors to quit dumping stuff over there, n start picking up, so I wouldn't be the only one! Then we get drinking kids n fishermen tossing tons of booze bottles. People have even dumped dead pets in bags without burying them! Even had assorted, strewn Couch cushions in spring past... There's no town trash pick-up here, you have to pay or get a $30 dump sticker. I bag n drive the garbage away because others are too lazy! The guy who taught me alot of finger-picking had Joni's LP, I'd never got it-yet
I'm still wishing they had left the trash can near the picnic table close to where your picture was taken, I'm getting tired of trying to find safe places to put the broken glass and bottles while my two little boys are playing at the park.
BBM, where I was standing, below the high tide mark on your cove, was tons of sharp, broken glass- everywhere! Tough to contemplate bare feet, never mind little ones playing with glass razor blades- Not funny- I can't believe they took the barrel! Someone stole my blue barrel from under the stairs recently, now I can't rake up until I buy a new one- Gotta nail down even the garbage! Sorry I don't have energy to do that area too-
Artist Alert!
I create all kinds of things. Closet musician, song-writer, Story, NF writer, Book Designer, Poet, Painter, n Sculptor. Working another job tho. Long hair, fairly ancient.
Where's the Dough? Maybe I'll get paid some instead of eating it. I'll get there one day soon, because I'm very determined n hard-working. Some one has to do it! As usual, I'll volunteer.
Time n energy helps.

It's heartbreaking.

you are a good person
David, Thanks, I like to think so, but do get very angry at people around here. I wish I didn't let them rile me up-
