Better View
The two pretty pics below were taken on on sunny Saturday from up on the bluff (hill) in my home village. It's more of the typical Cape Cod view you might expect to see.
...
Part of the front beach in the harbor, about 1500 feet up the road, was a much more pleasant sight than the back beach near my home. This area was deeded to public use always, and the richer folkz own the homes n Inns nearby. This is where they have the 4th of July fireworks every year. People pay big bux for vacationing here.
...
To the left of that beach section is the main harbor pier. There are several smaller, private, yahct-club piers. There's much more beach wrapping all the way around the village, which is almost an island. Usually this harbor area is chock full of moored and docked sea-craft, except in the swimming zone shown above.
...
I always prefer the off-season view, even with the bare foliage.

Snag - Pretty spot! Looks like a nice fishing spot.
Yup, gotta love the yuppies that spend all that cash to feel important eh?
Peace & Hugs,

We ate a Mark Anthony's 8 years ago, which was located next to a pier and parking lot.... but this doesn't look to familiar to me. Is it anywhere near Mark Anthony's?
Love the pictures, regardless, and can't blame you for liking it better in the quiet time. I remember the locals waving goodbye to us on the bridges (overpasses) when we would leave the Cape on Labor Day. Too funny!!!
It looks so beautiful! I've always wanted to go to Cape Cod! :)
the pier is totally near marc anthony's! about 200 ft down the road. and you see that island in the backgorund of that picture... that's wicket's island, you know that one i'd purchase if i was a millionaire.... i should lend you my digital video camera, and you could do the walking tour of onset for everyone!
Neo, Ya they do fish there sometimes, but from the boat is always better. This used to be a spot for the modest-means folkz, but with more tourism n a building-boom comes higher prices...
Ellen, Glad some one understands how good it is without the crowds!
OiLfield, hope you get to visit the Cape sometime soon, but beware the tourist trap prices!
MB, are you saying you'd lend me the cam just to walk around with? But baby shots are much more fun...
I remember when Robt gave me a vid-tour of San Franscisco, I do feel like I was there though I've not made it to the west coast yet!
i never remember to take out my camera to video evan. often b/c the mment passes and i don't know where it is half the time, and the battery's not charged, so if i want video i often take out my other camera that takes mediocre quality videos and use that,
but sure if you ever want to borrow it you're welcome to.
The older I get, the less interested I become in crowds and crowded areas. Too noisy and too busy.... give me a quiet beach anytime.
Cool that you posted a pic of the pier... even if I don't recognize it. I do have some pictures taken the day we were there. One with me and my Dad walking down to the pier to see the boats. It was in August, so there still was a few people out and about... and Marc Anthonys was very busy that day.
If you didn't have your order ready, the people behind the counter just brushed you aside and went on to the next customer.
MB, Thanks for the offer. I always wanna make vids, but will wait til I have play time again....
Ellen, Looks much different from over the bath-house in summer. Just a couple folkz there kickin back, hangin- instead of crowded with bright-clothed people with gear...
Ya, we're quite familiar with the John n Marc fast-order, long wait method... They're the same!
LOL! Either get your order in or step aside! We have the same thing here at a place called the Varsity. It's the only time that the southerners move fast.
Ellen, I was unaware that southerners were allowed to move fast!
Well, I think it's amazing though you may feel igored, John n Marc always remember who odered what, n will nod to you when the order's up! (unless you're in the middle of pinball...)
