It's Over

There goes baseball in MA again, it's almost like normal... - Wah!
The Red Flops, or BoSox, missed their last injection of amazing luck, and went down hard, 0-3 to the Whiteys. Well, Chicago does have a good team set-up this year. We can only hope they get to beat the next round. The game was over so early, I was depressed up all night waiting to get tired again. It didn't help there was a wild, late party downstairs, either.

I'm trying to leave the 'puter off-line more lately, need to get other things done. I'm working on some art projects previously mentioned, basically finding out everything not to do so next time works out more smoothly. Like, so I don't have to hand ink lettering twice. Now I want metalic inks, 'cause two-tone would be fancier, but it'll have to wait for more resources. I need matting and framing materials, and don't want to spend 20 bux on it, but will have to anyhow if I drive to go get it. I really hated the Wally-World selections.

One week left to see what's done for my New Hampshire travels.
Can't believe how warm it still is for here, and muggy too. Been raining quite a bit since last night. Bet the White Mountains'll be a bit cooler than this. Gonna dig out the coats. I'm all ready to camp out in the cap of my truck. I used to drive up there all the time, to Manchester and beyond, following Bruce Marshall Group all over. (my old buddies). I really haven't been anywhere much except Western MA to visit MB, Burlington VT, n Millinoket ME for funerals this year. Slowin down (and cheap!) lately. Used to head out every week-end, of course the fuel was only a buck! Thank goodness I have a baby 4-shooter truck, and not the monster kind.

Snag - Sorry about the bosox. I know how it feels living in philly. Slap the first person that says: "Well there's next year," for me.

Snag - Btw, as for your framing? My friend who is an artist makes his own frames. It's way less expensive than going to an art supply store.

Hi David, thanx for visit. Hmm I wonder who... was it... ---?

Neo I used to make some frames, but nowhere to do wood-work here but the kitchen, n I'm outa wood n time. Also Do need large frame with glass to protect work from damage. Picky about mat color due to the piece color!

But it was only a game when I was in the park barefoot with a bat, n they denied me access into little league cause I was female, n my boyfriend got in, but I was the better player...
Lately baseball has been a cult icon to follow, I was addicted to it for many years, now it's ok to miss some games. Unless the BoSox r winning!

With the gracious help of Neo, I am here to say hello, and sorry about the BoSox. My Braves pooped out last night in 18 innings... a new record if nothing else.
I used to be a Sox fan back in the 70's and 80's when I lived in NH...
and it would have been nice for them to break the Bambino's curse back then, but I was thrilled that they did it last year.
Have a safe journey up to NH, and bring the long-johns. The White Mts. are notorious for quick changing weather.

Ahh the ballgame.......... I can only imagine the smell of hotdogs and cheering:) the only sport you really have to worry about over here is Rugby, then if we lose as a country its an offical mourning period of about three days or more!!! Sorry bout the BoSox, wish we had a pile of Baseball teams to rant about over here!! :(

You used to be in NH?
Bad news about rivers in NH, the Keene area flooding today- was on the local news, in western MA too.
I'm going way north up there, above Laconia ...don't worry, I'm experienced in camping survival. I was a Girl Scout for 10 years.

You wouldn't believe the gear I'm bringing for a 1 nite stay... just 'cause, "what if?" I have a 12 band radio, emergency heat paks, ect... Guess the big what if is knowing there's been bear sitings in the area... but really, I'll be fine! Hibernation season anyhow.

Hi Kiwi,
3 days? we don't get a half-hour to recover over here, just supposed to bounce back to normal instantly! Funny, I am cooking / eating a hotdog tonight (soy)! I quit regular ones because I learned too much about nitrates ...
another reason I shouldn't eat spam!
I hear rugby is quite violent for the fans in Europe lately, maybe NZ 2? Wonder if they have women's rugby...

Glad to be here. I've been wanting to comment for a long time!

After the first time I read your profile, I realized that we had a few things in common. Although I now live in HOTlanta, I was a New England girl. Still own a cottage near the Cape in Wareham that my Grandparents had bought it back in the 40's... and I still have family in MA, CT & NH (3 brothers) besides a stepmother in NH.

I did hear about the flooding in Keene, NH and wondered if they will still be holding their annual pumpkin festival. Such a shame, as the town is beautiful.

Glad that you are stocked up with all the necessary gear for a trip up to the northern NH... once a girl scout, always a girl scout!
Hope the weather behaves for you.

Ellen,
Ah, Wareham... I believe, geographically speaking, it IS actually ON the cape penninsula! Just because some men dug a canal and tried to say the cape was only on the other side, doesn't make it scientifically so...
You do have a cape cottage.

I heard on the news many pumkins were seen floating by in the floods, how depressing!

Thanks for saying so about Wareham... It's always been referred to as the "gateway" to the Cape, even though we all know better. Heck, what's a few bridges?

I just got off the phone with my brother who lives in Weare, NH.
He did a little scouting trip to the Henniker/ Hillsboro area (not too far from Keene) and said that the river was up to the road (8 ft), where just the day before it was a dry creek bed that was easily walkable.

I saw a cartoon in our paper that showed a picture of Mother Nature,
hair straggled, big cigarette hanging from her mouth, clothes disarrayed, holding a rolling pin and bashing a map of New Orleans. Looks like she could have been doing it to our planet for all the bad things happening this year.

AS each weather problem comes in, wave after shock-wave, it's just scary to have to believe all previous bets are off...
"Normal" is gone!
