Landing

I fly on the edge of night
Seeking safe haven
A rocky roost in the cold
Until I sense more light
If another sun rises
Again I will see my world
.
My place flowing with waves
Feathered companions
Weathering the gusty gales
Winning bits of respect
Flock together loudly cry
Time to settle in the dark

This is so cool. I see the bird landing in the photo and I see another bird, wings spread for a landing in your adaptation. The poem is right on. Lovely all.

Such beautiful words to go with the amazing photo, Snaggle. I think that's how the birds think...

I like that first shot snaggle. Funny how they show up out of the blue like that. Who knew seagulls were such hams? :)

Nice :>

Gran Annie, Glad you enjoyed what I found. Thanks

Lynn, Thanks, I'm trying to think as if I'm the bird.

Ellis, Thanks for the essence poem. Night must be difficult for them, being creatures depending on keen sight.

Talon, Thanks, n that's what I just explained to Lynn! I was really close to them that day-

Cloudia, Welcome again. Thankyou. I like to write about flying.
Aloha!

Neo, It's been a long winter for the seabirds too- finally the ice has melted, so they're eating better there. I didn't chase them, n they didn't fly away. Thanks

Paige, Glad you liked it. I just really like pretending I'm the bird...

LLcoolJ, Thanks, it's my Fave of the whole days pics. They're tough to get well without high shutter speed control, low light, n fast movement- n a bad zoom on my cam.

Tabor, Welcome to ESR comments! I can hear some rain instead of snow, so even tho it's 40F n stormy, it may indeed be influencing my words... thanks

"winning bits of respect" I really like that. One of my favorite lines of yours, Snag.

Hope seagull is getting lots of fish these days.

JanF, Thanks. I'm sure most folks see the noisy bird chatter as annoying, but I think it's demanding respect from the flockmates. there'a always a pecking order, after all-
Me too
