Thor's Field Day

...

The end of July brings me lots of thunder n lightning storms, just in time for wonderful Day Off. (Yesterday) I was up at 7a waiting for the storms to be far enough away to put the fans in the windows to pull out all the steamy hot then reverse to pull in the perfect 70 degrees F so I could get some zzz's finally.
...
Then after struggling to awaken to begin my errand countdown, I heard a news weather alert for a severe cell heading this way. So instead of hanging out clothes n getting out I waited around for the weather to go by. News reported hail in the area I needed to head into, then it calmed down a bit before getting here. Oh well, just more to get done another before work day.
...
Life seems so boring without my daily online adventures! I want my docs files back (whine~)
...
The Wampanoags signed paper with the town of Middleborough, right up the road from here. They want to be given soveriegn land for a casino. Abount a third of the people at a huge meeting voted against it. It'd definately take the rural out of the whole zone.
...
I don't like the idea of more people, traffic, n the resulting crime, either, but I'd be nice to find a new job just up the road without a commute to Beantown. It'd open up merchant, food service, n entertainment job opportunities.
...
The native Wampanoags aren't yet recognized as a true tribe by the Fed Gov. So even this step could hold up the whole project for years or indefinately.
...
Just because your great, great great, great, great, great, grand-dad was around here in the 1600's helping out the Pilgrims is no guarantee of recognition by the clueless authorities.
...
We've got public native statues, a Wigwam Spiritualist center, annual Pow-Wows in the middle of Hyannis Center, ... after all, this was their summer camp village where I live, n now these people have decades of court battles already behind them trying to prove their bloodline's inheritance.
...
I have a neighbor who can prove he's descended from an original, off the boat, pilgrim. RR even has some of the furniture they sat on, as well as papers linking him back. He gets respect.
Of course, word-of-mouth passed down for centuries doesn't count in court. Especially with all the mixed in blood-lines.
...
Injustice n unfairness prevails.
Who gets the power n the bux?
Not the deserving...
...
How can it be that I can work my butt off 50 hours a week, n still not be able to keep up with the rising prices of basic living?
The ruling rich people pick on the grandmas n families fighting to keep swimming away from the greedy rip-tide ready to slide away a lifetime of accomplished survival.
...
American dream (my Ass). Luckily I learned to swim young.
...
If I were "Thor" tossing lightning bolts around like lawn jarts, maybe I could change a few things around here...

You have hit the nail on the head with the imbalance of pay. the harder you work, the less you make.

God Bless America.

I did send the package to christine with the power supply. It went out priority on monday, so it should be there soon!! I hope it fixes the problem for you.

I saw the radar the other day b/c I was heading east, and thought "holy crap, poor mom" It looked brutal. Thankfully I was headed to the north shore, where the rain wasn't nearly as bad.

Snag - Yup, greed. Good ole' Corporate greed! I just had my phone turned back on. I only owed them 77 bucks. I mean wtf?

Good luck to the Indians, but we all know how that works out at the end of the day. Pay to Play.

Peace & Hugs,

- Neo

Well... here's sending you the prayers to use Thor's lightening lawn darts to spit into the eye of corporate America. You'd think with me being a business owner myself I'd have quite the opposite opinion of this, but no. I see where too many people have to suffer the ills of companies stretching to make CEO'S bonuses while the working man/ woman lose all they have invested. We are one of the richest countries in the world, yet our infastructure is crumbling like the bridge that just collapsed last week. The balance of things have weakened horribly, and most of it makes no sense when we already know that we have everything we need to keep it afloat. Oh well..... I could go on forever, but I won't waste the space here.

Hoping that we get some of that rain down this way... we could use a great dousing to snuff the 100 degree weather we are getting now.... and with no rain in sight.
My plants need two waterings a day now.... and with me hiding behind bushes again to make sure they get a good drink of water. Talk about instant evaporation.....

Take care!

Xray, Hummm, maybe I should let all the rapid-fire products flop onto the floor... I need more bux!

MB, Got it, brought it to dude to help, but will pay labor- need a chip too. More rain today on Day off, see above post.

Neo, I only owe the cell-Co 80, n they gave that # to some one else already, so they're really waiting now! I thought it was pay, then pay again, but laugh while it goes away. At least I might get in some good shows!

Fleenie, Got lots of lighting bolts to toss there, eh? The machine is officially in the shop. A week, maybe two- (it's Mon the 13th)

Ellen, I do just love the visual on Thor's lightning jarts...
I hear it's triple digits n drought there- I hope you haven't all melted yet! Amazing the plants can live at all! Hope it's shady in those bushes...

Janus, I'm sure Thor will happily share for more good, deserving targets. I hope to read about them soon!
