Independence
.
.
A few folks claimed their turf early before fireworks time. By 9pm, there was no spare space as shown here about 8pm on our way down to the front beach.
.
I was lucky to get the day off, n got to go to fireworks with the folks down the hill. It felt strange to be in a group for once.
.
In the past decade or so, I've been on my own for events like this. The three previous fireworks in my village I had to work, n one of those was cancelled with short budget bux for security. Then they decided it was economically bad for the town not to have them. A couple others before were too foggy, or I decided to avoid the throngs n stay home instead.
Many times the only option was be alone there or not go.
One time in my brave independence at a BMG band gig back in the '90's, I was by myself in a venue of a 10k audience (as a roadie). It's an occasion I'll never forget. Few people have the confidence for such a feat.
After all my years as a single parent after divorce, n then in an empty nest, I've come to embrace my independence, as well as my country's birthday.

Have to go I hear Buddy scraching at the door...
Love "Pal"
But the important question is this:
Did you enjoy yourself?
Ah a roadie, mind carrying my guitar case to a show I'm playing next week?
Be gentle, she bruises easily!
/me ducks
Well, for your 5pxl cam (or any cam,) you done got all those shots great.
A roadie, eh? Did you travel the whole country & such? Bet you have some stories to tell of that.
Loved your Independance life analolgy. Is that how you spell analogy? Wait, I think I got it right that second time!
I think the shots are terrific, Snaggle. Fireworks over the water is doubly beautiful. And you really get a sense of the crowd in that shot. Yeah, it's true - you can feel more lonely in a crowd than on your own. But independence? It's one of the great joys of life.
Snaggle -
I'm glad there was a good crowd to hang with and most of all, that you didn't have to work!
Sorry about my kiddo's acting up on us, but it was great going to the fireworks with you, it's been too long! It wouldn't have been so bad if they hadn't gotten lazy during the 2nd half and kept things interesting for the crazy 4 year olds, though the 20 landing on the beach definatly held my attention for awhile. I've never left before the finale before either. Love ya mom!
I hope you had a great Independence Day! Cool pictures of fireworks, too. Independence is important to me, too, being a sister free spirit. :)
Buddy, I didn't think dogs liked grapes. You were up at the point getting nailed with all the misfires eh? I thought you'd be on the pier again- We were much closer to the bath-house near the baby section. Was too crazy to find folks in that crowd without a cellphone. Glad you got to go!
G, I enjoyed parts of it, but most could've been better- thanks.
Neo, I can carry 3 at once (in cases) ...(up 50 steps at the Hampton Casino), n the heavy amps too- Helped with Jeff Healy's also that day.
JanF, woops, think I meant 5 Megapixel! That's a New England local band. I went all over Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, n Mass. Thanks, I do highly value my independence in life- especially regarding descisions. 2nd is good.
Talon, thanks- I didn't post the kid jumping on my lap ones- n wish I'd had a time lapse to try out. Except for growing up n a few years of marriage, independence defines my life for the past few decades. Guess I should be happier about it? (If they'd throw me more bux)-
Lynn, not working was the best part! They tried to get me to-
BBM, I'm dealing with it- I don't give in as easy as you, but was def easier to get out of there while we did, I guess. LvU2
ThommaLyn, it was ok, tho a bit rushed for me. Got alot of hiking thru the village crowds in, too. My pics came out different than I thought they would- could be worse- (like when I had a shaky video cam). Live Free or Die!
lol You know I can't have grape's but "Pal" can...I just hope his are sowre...lol (Boy I have to leern to spell. night night
Buddy, Oh yeah, I shoulda answered Pal that time- woops. I just wondered what we missed with all those too-low boomers wasted.
glad that you got to enjoy the fourth!
Snag - So is that a yes?
*grin*
David, Hope you had a good one too!
Neo, I'm a bit far away to carry your stuff- it's a long-- walk
Whoops, I must've forgotten to actually post my comment yesterday. Sorry.
Let's try this again. :)
Lol on my saying a 5pxl cam. That would be some majorly teeny technology.
Snag - How's your hitch hiking skills? *wink*
ooo, ahh, ohhh. yeah!
thanks cause I missed ours here.
JanF, The webcam I had before Mischief attacked n killed it- was a 50-pixal pic. Maybe a mouse or an ant could use a 5!
Neo, Last time I hitched a ride I was 17, with a friend in my hometown, n the van had a mattress on the floor...We were offered beer, which we declined, but got there unharmed amazingly-
Paige, Sorry you had to miss the fun- Thanks for the famous "Ooo-ah's"
Wow! That is one crowded beach! And how did you take such awesome pics of the fireworks??? Mine are always just a blurr.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. You made my day! :)
20! (((POP)))
Snag - Turning down beer? BLASPHEMY!!!
Cookie, thanks for the return Looky-see. Secret of unblurry shots is to brace your cam arm n hold your breath so the cam doesn't move when clicking the shot.
Neo, I was underage, n the driver was drinking, which made us quite paraniod. I really don't drink beer anyhow-
22 (((DING DING)))
Snag - No I was referring to the # of the comment; not how old you were at the time. ;p
Neo, ooo~ my dault, Doh!
