Good Grey

Photo by SnaggleTooth May 2009 .

Yet another grey day, n a new collection of "Grey Pics" from today's travels to the center of town n then a side trip to my fav beach.
.
Enjoy your Mother's, n make them laugh if you can! That's the best gift. I really miss my Mom's company, gone almost a decade now. Remember some folks are sad missing mothers... My Mom used to mention missing hers to me, n now I get it- all too well.

Too bad I have to work Mother's Day, n all the plans down the hill for a BBQ have been cancelled due to a stomache flu. That present is better off avoided! Luckily I received some early things from one, n I don't mind getting late things from the other ill folks.

Photo by SnaggleTooth May 2009I have to be satisfied with an uneventful, unspecial day.
.
Day Off today, the day before, tho, I enjoyed. I spoke to loved ones. I visited my best place on Earth. I walked the beach n appreciated the gifts of the Creator. I ate some goodies like ice cream. My feet are up, n I've got some videos to watch. The truck drives, the TV works, the neighbors are out, n I have needed sanity time.

Photo by SnaggleTooth May 2009For all these things, I am greatful. There is even artful beauty in Grey Day pics to enjoy...

Nice pics of the shore.

Being so far inland, the only I get to appreciate are the mountains, etc.

Nice to have a reminder that the Atlantic Ocean is nearby.

G, Thanks. I see these spots out doing errands. I don't get alot of free time, but I get quality sights in my minutes. Away from ocean, I feel like a fish out of water- I can't stand it!
Mountains are good too, of course, n the Rivers.

I always think grey days really play up the gorgeous colours of the blossoms and flowers.

Love the photos - I can hear the waves and smell the ocean air.

It was my husband's first Mother's Day without his mother who passed away last September. Makes the day bittersweet. We miss her.

Talon, very good point, they do photograph better that way, even if missing the preferred blue sky BG. A macro-lens setting would really help me tho.
Thanks, n luckily you can't feel the biting wind making those waves- at least wind chill was above freezing.
Missing mother's make the day quite difficult. A young friend lost hers on Xmas, then I found out this will be my aunt's last one. Keeping busy n shifting focus helps- In a few years it gets more fond than sad, hopefully. That's why we need to make them laugh while we can! For those great memories. I always remember my mom's special laugh-

The photos you share are gorgeous. Some people dream of going to Cape Cod for a vacation. You have the great privilege of living there! Although your mom may not longer be with you physically, the love you share means her spirit isalways closer than you assume. You are eternally connected in soul. Thanks for the visit to Dreambuilders Australia. Would be great to hear more about your astral dreaming experiences.

Oh, I just love those ocean photos. So lucky you are there.

Actually I'm thinking of selling this house, the biz and moving me Jim, the 2 dogs and the cat in downstairs from you! You like? We can't be 1/10th as noisy as the very considerate ones below you.

Yay -- you visited Liara (you Sweetie,) and she's here now. The both of you are two incredible souls I like and respect very much. Yay!!

My mom is almost 70. I talked to her about a half hour today and it was precious. I do take her for granted. Thanks for the reminder. And a little prayer for you. But Liara's right, you are connected forever.

And another blogger on Mothers' Day did a piece for infertile couples and the heartache they feel on Mother's day too. That heartache I well remember.

Rears in my eyes now. Rears in my eyes at this post.

P.S. I love the orange snow fence and the little blue sign in the background - so real. Reminds me of the Bermuda paintings with the power lines and yellow pavement striping.

Real, baby! real!

P.S. What does the blue sign indicate?

Liara, This is a pretty place, but it's expensive to be here, especially in the winter when jobs close down. It's a tourist driven summer place, n little quiet is available from this month until October again. Thankyou for your visits as well. You're good at describing the spiritual sensations I still have trouble finding the words for. Those communications are so non-verbal!

JanF, That spot is why I work so hard to stay here. Do you promise to never drive n park on the lawn? I bet kelly hardly screams, either. Too bad you're not related to this landlord... (They won't sell it)
Actually, i've been to all the tagline winners blogs, n I've been to Liara's a few times before. Who can't use a little dream building?
Remember to call n visit Mom more often, now that you know how amusing parenthood is.

Parts of the walkway are crumbling away, so are roped off with the orange fencing. The Blue sign is the state required "Handicapped parking only" space. That tree is very close to the other pics gangplank btw-

Beautiful and serene. Hope it was a good day.

Nope, I'd never ever drive on your lawn. Or your foot.

And Kelly's really quite a considerate kid.

I had not realized you've been getting over to all the tagline winners. I'd been grossly out of blog touch with a lot for a while. But nicely freed-up post-show now. I think probalby the hardest work of my musical is now behind me, in terms of nose to the grindstone on guitar. (I hope so, anyway.)

I'm giving myself another 31 mins on computer, then it's dishes time.

Sheila, Thanks, from one side of town to the other, from calm waters to 2 foot seas. All days are good n bad, depending on the angle you look from.

JanF, Tonight we're having an involuntary sports party, as both the Celtics n Bruins are on- (downstairs)
Well, you've been very busy, release party n all, so it's understandable you can't do eSheila, Thanks, from one side of town to the other, from calm waters to 2 foot seas. All days are good n bad, depending on the angle you look from.
