Movies of the Day

TV movies of the week have come along way, baby. Tonight CBS is playin "Category 7, the End of the World" for my bedtime story. Just what I need, more disasters to contemplate! Ya just can't see the Eiffel tower (puter generated image) crash enough times... Sometimes seein Randy Quaid tellin everyone to watch out, here comes a twister, can seem like the end of entertaimment as we know it! Actually, now Randy is in a full head n body brace... which is a little amusing...

If I wanna see a good one, I'll watch "Armegedon" again. I've slowly been going through all my video movie boxes n re-watching the good ones for kicks this year. Series after series: Dune, Jurassic Park, Star Wars, LOR, Matrix, Tomb Raiders, Terminator, Star Trek, ect... Tons of (VHS) videos... I really can't stand it when what I have makes it to network TV with all the fun dialogue dubbed over.

I'm just depressed that the DVD player needs replacing, laser keeps jammin in the middle of movies, saying disk unreadable, so all the newer movie titles I have in DVD gotta be played ala puter or nevermind. Nevermind Harry Potts, or Spidey, or nat'l Treasure...

OK, now on the movie, twisters are rippin apart pyramids! The effects are so campy n fake, with the shaky-cam shots...it's lame! Not quite as bad as the soap operas which show an accident happened without any crashing pix, but close. N here we go again, they're blaming it on God n the Revelation scriptures, what a non-surprise. And joy, it's a continued (multi-night) movie series!

Looks like I'll be back searching the old vid boxes...

Darn, I missed it! I've never seen The End Of The World, but always wanted to. (Just too glad that it's Hollywood and not real life... but I do like the computer generated action stuff, even if they are pretty lame). I'm a Desperate Housewife and Law & Order fan, and just had to see the next segments... so I missed out.
I'll have to catch part 2 to see some of what I missed. I hear so many people talk about it.

Sad to think they always blame it on God... when we are doing a pretty good job of destroying our own planet ourselves.

PS- I just noticed that you linked me... so many thanks!
I told Neo that I would like to link as well and he sent me instructions, but I am still trying to figure that out... was able to change the template in all my playing around though. Thanks for noticing!

Ellen,
Well I spent the better part of last year being addicted to all the new network programs. I can't afford to be so devoted this season. I'll be tied up more nights. They seem to only show the new ones during sweeps. So I figure I'll see 'em in the repeats, cause they keep playin 'em over n over... Now the only one I wanna see is LOST, which I'll tape if I'm busy to play later. They repeated that one to death already too!

How right you are about the repeats, damned if they don't play them to death.
Remember when TV had real seasons and line-ups. You could practically set your clocks to the programs. Now all they do is switch them around here and there, repeat them and come out with new sillier ones.
No matter what, I still follow what's going on... what a sheeple!

PS- Just saw Dennis Quaid do the intro for football tonight. Boy if he were in the End of the World movie, I wouldn't have missed it for the world... he's a melter, especially when he smiles!

BTW- never caught Lost myself, but figure, like you, the re-runs will be out soon enough.

Dennis is def the cool bro, Randy always makes me think of the gross relative in "Vacation" no matter what he's doin, though I bet he's in the dough pretty good anyhow!

One of the classic CD's I bought before Katrina hit N.O was "The Big Easy" starring young Dennis, suppose now it's historical footage...

Yeah, Dennis is define eye candy... what the heck was Meg thinking when she dumped him for Crowe?... then lost them both.

Loved Randy in Vacation movies... nobody better to play those roles.

Loved "The Big Easy" too... brought back memories for me about New Orleans.

HAHA... sounds like you're having a good time, and have the perfect distraction for the coming cold spell.

I just got my fill of chick flicks last night. Yeah I'm a sucker for the romantic stuff, though a good laugh never goes amiss.

Bummer about the DVD. We just got a new one for the house... along with a new tv. Moving up in the world? Now, I'm thinking a new vacuum could be way more important! haha.

Take care, you.

Sorry that I skipped being online 2 days to answer you. I'm havin a time this week...

Ellen, Ya, Meg is an idiot for that move, guess she got greedy with all that screen exposure.

MB,
was thinking of "Joe and the Volcano" for a minute there... didn't catch that airing "Volcano" (in CA) you mean, but do have the DVD in my collection!

Using up the words,
Ya I'm sorry everything comes out in DVD now, of course I always want to watch those ones! I have the half VHS, half DVD player-type, so still half good, anyway.
I tend to multi-task with tv, puter, and interruptions all at once.

Sorry again took-off so long!
