Warmer Thoughts

I just took a most serene pic from years ago, n made myself laugh at it... (Dog Face?)

The surprize factor is definately what entertains me with these projects. Without my VHS working, I'm alot more entertainment challenged lately. I've read more novels in the past year than in the whole preceeding decade, I think.

My main challenge today is trying to sit here without the 3 blankets I'd prob need to feel warmish in here. We're doing about 6F degrees outside now without windchill. The kitchen is way warmer, about 65F, n it's 10 degrees cooler where I'm sitting. But the floors are the worst part even with slippers. Time for double socks, too!

I've been unsystematically going thu old files the past few weeks , reading old jokes n looking for play pics.

Scanned photo by SnaggleTooth 1997This one's from my first trip ever to Florida in April 1997. I remember the ride from Tampa toward the Clearwater area, because it was so balmy I had to start stripping off some clothing layers I'd needed at home. This Sunset over the Gulf of Mexico pic was taken on film thru a window screen from my hotel room the first evening there, n scanned into the machine well before I started ESR.
Florida is a way warmer thought about now...

Happy Martin Luther King Day

I've been playing with my pics too - showing some new kinds of stuff at my place. Best wishes for a great new year my friend-

Yesterday it was a warm spring-like day. This morning I hear the wind beating against the house as if a chilly mob is trying to break in. Oklahoma is very fickle on the weather front. That photo on film through a screen is amazing. I wonder how many people use cameras that require film any more? Your first computerized picture has a tiny pair of heel-to-heel shoes in the center.

Clearwater is a beautiful place - nice to think of someplace warm like that while you are too cold. Have you thought of getting one of those portable electric heaters? I had to buy one for my cubicle area at work - they keep the loading dock door open and it's just behind the wall behind me, so I'm always cold here.

Those warm weather photos are so addictive when the weather is miserable and cold.

It's been bitterly cold here this weekend (a big high of 1F yesterday). Even Riley wasn't too keen on being out too long :)

I love sunset shots and yours is so full of soft color, Snaggle. I like that there was a dog hiding in there - lol!

Wouldn't it be something to be in the balmy temps right about now?

Have a super day. Stay warm and double sock-it!

I can see the window screen upon enlarging!

My first time to FL was in Feb. 1998, just a little after you, Snaggle. I was there with my friend Mary who passed on recently. Wow, what a lovely shot!!

My second and last trip to FL was in June, 2001 -- 6 months preggers with The Pea.

What kind of blankets do you like best?

Cloudia, I think you've had a wide variety of pic subects since I've been going to The Comfort Spiral. I bet it's balmy there right now too! Thanks. Aloha!

Gran Annie, TG todays a more reasonable 30F! The Olympus SLR I took that with cost about $400 n the mirror/shutter fell apart. Was a good pic cam tho- Shoes! I love how different folks see other things I don't without the tip...

Lynn, I have one, but it costs alot to run n doesn't make much of a dent in the house temp. (Why the kitchen was warmer.) Can't leave it on when not home. House heat is on 50. Even that costs several hundred per month on the Electric bill in winter. plus I have half the apartment plastic-partitioned off to heat a smaller zone.
I guess GA has been a bit colder for winters in recent years. I'm guessing my toasty 50 is your freezing 50!

Tabor, I really like the warm memory the pic brings back- to be so hot I couldn't stand my long shirt over my T-shirt! A far cry from the triple layers I'm into now- Yep!

Talon, Poor Riley is getting up there in years, n the older you get the colder it seems- to me too! Even Mischief! Just everything gets achy.
I've got a better, more realistic hidden dog from a cloud pic somewhere... Maybe I'll show it for you soon when I find it again. A gazillion pics on this machine, I know you can relate!
The thought of hopping in a plane n being balmy again 3 hours from now is quite a tempting thought! If only I had the bux...
Thanks

Neo, Well that middle pic with the headless figure is wearing shorts, I think... Definately the wind is what kills it here- The Cape is a windy place. Plus a couple windows are missing downstairs so it's too drafty. Poor Mischief is always cold- I fill her up bottles of kettle-hot water in her blanket box for when I'm not home.

JanF, oooo the "Mary can ya hear me" Mary?!
I was there for my lil Sister's wedding- traveling with my Mom (now gone), n my Big Sis, who later moved near there. They each live in different towns near Clearwater on the coast.
OK this is a bit wierd, I drove there in early December 2001 on a 2 week excursion, later the same year as you!

I have a collection of the little fleece throws, but most are in the laundry, n only one is clean. Must wash out those dust mites! Lately like forest green.

Well, we got our first normal (non-power outage) snow day today.

What I wouldn't give right for temps to be back in the 40's.

Snaggle - Same here even at -20 it isn't bad if you dress in layers. The wind along with the cold is what does you in. A hot water bottle for your cat? I've never heard of anyone doing that before. LOL!

G, about time, eh? Glad your power is at least on. Hope you didn't have to shovel too much-
At work they let us go early (unpaid) so we all had to drive in the worst of the snowfall. duh. When I got home it turned to rain here. Guess you weren't so lucky a bit to the SouthWest...

Neo, I always do layers, but when sitting still n trying to rest it's tougher to keep the chill out-Wait a few years n see how much colder you feel- Hot Water bottles is the best way to go, even for old kitties!
