December Sunrise

My first pic taken in December is from last week. Another colorful window shot of the B-cove thru the silhouetted trees. The purply-pink is so appealing to me...

I've managed to turn it into a silly-looking critter! Unless you think it's something else- besides a paisley-cloaked ox with red eyes... n it's still got purply-pink!

That "Sunrise, Sunset" song from Fiddler On the Roof has been going thru my mind alot lately, as I'm noticing time whippng past me n the kids growing so fast. I'm not a "Yente" in real life, but once played her role in the production back in High School. I seem to be missing all the sunsets. I'm leaving for work after sundown these days. Can't wait for the daylight to get longer again... Almost solstice time.

Usually my windows are iced over by this date, but it's over 50 F degrees again! Have a better week-end than I will- I'll be working...

That is exactly what I was going to say, "a paisley-cloaked ox with red eyes".

Gorgeous sunrise.

I love the hues in that shot, Snaggle. Glorious! So rich and beautiful.

Yes, that song is my favorite from Fiddler On The Roof. Time does seem to be running wild anymore. that must have been fun playing that role!

We had a sudden upswing in temps here, too, and it's raining. I think we'll be having a green Christmas this year.

Hope work zips nicely for you this weekend.

Granny Annie made me laugh out loud. That is a rather unique way of describing that.

I was a bridesmaid in my late friend Harriet's wedding years ago and they had someone playing "Sunrise Sunset" on the violin as the parents were escorted to their seats. It was beautiful (and a Jewish wedding, so it kind of fit.)

I hate that when I leave work, I need to drive with the high beams on... I can't wait until Dec 22, so that we will be getting our daylight back. I need my vitamin D dammit!!

sometimes during the summer I purposely don't wear sunblock because I have a theory that it might block my ability to absorb vitamin D. I have no idea if it's true, but I wonder if it prevents it from happening nonetheless.

I've moved back to blogger.. changed the addy blondeattimes.blogspot.com so hopefully you can comment again!

Gran Annie, Almost as lively as a "Red Bull"... thanks

Talon, Color like that is so rare here- The clouds have to be just right. Thanks
I recently realized I never taught myself the fiddle tunes from that- n can still remember them in my head having heard it so many times in Fiddler rehearsal- Yes n helping with choreography (I used to do Isreali Folk Dancing with friends from public school) was the best part for me.
For Xmas I don't mind not shoveling for a switch, myself! Me too Thanks

Lynn, Once I thought it, it stuck! That tune has been non-stop on the mind radio this week. A somber tune for me usually tho- Sounds like a special wedding. Fun to take part in them.

MB, I've been taking D3 supplements, really helps me feel better. Sunlight gives you thousands of mg (pills way less) n it affects melatonin production n calcium absorption- So affects bone density n sleep! I never use sunscreen, as you know.
I had "answered a question" thing on tumblr, but i even had trouble commenting on BBMs machine for some reason! I'll visit n fix Links again soon I hope. Thanks

You get some amazing shots of skies!

I think it's when we see our children and relatives getting older that we realise that we too are getting older. I'm very much at a stage where I don't want life to just pass me by in a blur.

LLcoolJ, one line of the Song goes "I don't remember getting older, When did They?" You're right we don't feel it ourselves. My girls have both been out on their own over a dozen years now- n seems baby J was born yesterday, but he's 7 already in a blink! The older you get the faster it slips... I hope you get to savor n enjoy the company of those fun Teenagers you have.
