Update on Slippin'

Yay! My probs of yesterday have melted away! I want to thank you all for your support n all those prayers you sent, because they worked very well!
.
I woke up early, the landlord folks came down, n got the downstairs all nipped n tucked for the cold. The kids won't be allowed back, because the place was trashed, n needs tons of work now.
.
The heat was shut all the way off! Not only were storm windows not down, but windows were actually broken n removed frame n all! No wonder I was so chilly- Both the smoke n Carbon Monoxide detectors were malfunctioning! That's not the worst of it- They left a mattress in the basement leaning on the gas furnace!
.
Praise, Glory, Halleluhah! TG I'm alive n ok!
.

Image by SnaggleTooth Dec 2010That's all been taken care of now. Windows were replaced, closed, nailed closed, batterries replaced, heat was put on 55F below, n now I have keyes to check down there, plus assurance that won't happen again, n neighbors keeping an eye out to make sure they don't break back in when I'm not here. They'd obviously broken in thru several windows during their stay.
.
Walls n floors were cracked. All the furniture will be dumped, the trash will be removed. I'll help out with some of the pick-up (beer bottles, yard, ect). I even got some help with a Little Truck issue before the snow began again.
.
Now, back to the Pre-Xmas-Sprint!

Typical young people. Trash an apartment to within an inch of its life and then move on like everything was okay.

Glad to hear that everything worked out so well for you.

And will you get any help with your extra high electric bill for the month? You are so richly blessed that this was not worse. Now you should have a very Merry and safe Christmas.

I'm so glad they won't be back! How awful is that? And so glad a little heat is on.

G, Would you've ever thought to do stuff like that to your grandmother's house? These kids are gonna have a heckova Xmas dinner with her! They took pics! Thanks

Gran Annie, No help with that bill- Always high no matter how low the heat is set, anthow! It will be extra high. I've been so grateful nothing happened with thst mattress n no detectors! Now it looks good- Thanks n Jolly Holly 2U2!

Lynn, I'm so relieved they can't come back! I'm not usually unkind, but in this case, they deserve it! 60F is so much better than 40F- whew!

Ellis, God sprang into action for me to hurry n fix that problem. Yep-

Paige, definately! After so much unlucky, I suddenly feel very lucky. Merry Merry Ho-Ho-Ho! That would explain his sometimes flamboyant n outgoing jovialness!
