You May Cringe

This week I had to take an emergency dental day off. I'm happy to nap a bit n not be in as much sharp pain as I endured the previous 6 days. Nothing like a nerve that won't quit ontop of a huge abscess. I hope to never let it get so bad again!

I woke up Monday n tried calling the dentist office, but they were closed due to the Presidents Day holiday. I really wasn't thinking clearly. I also tried to mail a parcel, but the Post Office was closed too! I still schlepped my way to endure work with tooth pain again.

From the previous nights I knew the pain would be bad, especially about 10 pm. The problem was allergies n folks with strong perfume too close to me. They get to walk around, I have to stay at the end of a machine or stuff hits the floor. I started having a bad reaction to breathing in fragrance though my mouth, n my mouth was swelling up like crazy. This pinched on the distressed area causing more pain.

I swallowed 7 benedryl at intervals before the swelling let up. Amazingly I got the work done.

The following morning I ended up getting 4 teeth in a row pulled, all were abscessed. It was the most painful procedure I've ever endured, n somehow I sat still for it. I concentrated on holding up fingers indicating my pain level while I couldn't speak. I got to 10 several times. What a relief to get the nerve-crazy one out! After that the rest were easy.

I couldn't do much after that. I told folks I'm on a starvation diet. Had to let the tea get cold n the cold drinks lukewarm for a day, n drink thru straws. Yesterday I got to eat some overly soggy, easy to swallow, wheat cereal n pudding. Today I'll work on making baked beans in the crockpot for more energy before getting back to the job.

I can't wait for that spot to get healed up.
My face feels like someone punched it...

The weather is pleasant, about 50 F these few days. I could be enjoying it more, but I need to take it easy. I'll walk today anyhow, n take my time.

I really tried to think up other subjects but this has dominated all my time! I hope  to be able to think again soon...

I couldn't resist stopping at the end of my previous home's street for a snow at the beach pic on my  last Day Off.

Wood U B a Deer?

Oh Deer

Next to the front porch there's a small, two-foot high deer statue in the garden bed. I like the way he carries the snow. These were all taken during the "Blizzard of 2017" last week. while I was shoveling the porch.

I wonder what they would name the next time if we get another one...?

Today we'll get a little bit again. We have been alternating snow, rain, n one sunny, very windy day, rain again, repeat. The sidewalks are terrible with frozen slushy ice or snow piles never shoveled, except near the schools. Alot of roads have no sidewalks. It's tough being a winter pedestrian here.

Last week two folks on the way to work, driving,  slid off the highway. One is still out injured.

I'm grateful to still be wearing the old LLBean gear this year. My feet have never gotten wet in those boots! I'd heard it's been tough to get Bean Boots the past few years, due to a large back order. I'd heard news they were increasing the production equipment to try to get profit back under control. Their products are high-priced, but do seem to last forever. They always had a life-time guarantee return policy. I heard they are also planning to change that.

Image by SnaggleTooth Feb 2017I'm really sick of heart- shaped goods, but
I scored some half-price Ghiradelli Dark Chocolate Strawberry squares at the after Val Day sale. They are so good...

During this week's Library visit I need to get my tax forms n instructions saved to start reading. That'll cut into blog time a bit now until I get t all figured out.

It was blowing small snowflakes sideways when I took these pics, but only by looking at trees across the road can you tell how poor the visibility was.

A friend gave me a stack of Star Trek movie dvds when he replaced them all with Blue-Ray this week. So I'm doing a marathon of the oldies next. I saw most of them with my Dad decades ago. I watched "Beyond" the newest 2016 film, first. Effects have really gone light years ahead at Warp 7 from those first ones! They are on the 50th year anniversary!

I think it's sad how the U.S. space program has made so little progress on humans traveling in space since that sci-fi show began. We've gotten so good at faking it on film, but technology n funding can't hope to get to the level seen on the big screen these days.

I know folks who don't believe the Moon walk with Neil Armstrong was real. I remember watching it during school on a little Black & White Tube set the teacher brought in. I believe it was real n live on that tv.

I'm still waiting for a Moon Base to get built...

Back to "... Exploring strange, new worlds, n new civilization. Boldly going where no one has gone before...!"

...in my images n in my brain -

(Note: I kinda mixed up which images came from which, the top from the trees, bottom from the front view of the deer)

ESR Snow Day

We interrupt our regular, scheduled library posting due to being bumped by another load of frozen white, fluffy,  crystals, plus blizzard conditions. These things are to be expected during New England winters. Normally I would not let this deter me from my planned mission. Today, however, I'm certain the that everything will be closed n everyone is cancelling everything!

TG I don't have to work! I bet they'll have to get there at 9 am to not get stuck without a way in... Not me! I'm going to stay put n try to post with this tablet thing! I do really hate typing with a stylus one letter at a time, but that is how this got here.

Pic taken from the archive, is of frozen beach water  in 2007 I think.
Only took 2 hours to figure out... Hope to be back next week!

Ground Hug Day

I don't wanna hug the ground today. It's cold n some frozen snow is still there off the walkways, cause Monday it snowed a few inches.

My mind keeps thinking about what a ground up hug would be like, n if it would smell good like coffee grounds, or like dirt, or maybe be X-rated on film, because our language can be so ambiguous it could mean many things, the slip of one letter... n my typos are muy muy muy! my hands way tired.

These had just happened, n I liked them too:

foozen
ambugious

My poor tired brain would rather entertain itself with funny thoughts about what those may be, instead of all those repeated weekly chores n errands I need to do.

It seems everyday like I've been here before, n I'm reminded of Bill Murray n Andie MacDowell doing a day over n over again until they get it right. I've kinda lost sight of what's actually the right way to stop the rut I seem to be in with time since I moved here. I always hope to score a lottery win to nullify this rut with ease.

I got sick with a flu yet again for the work-week, n actually was out a day because standing up was out of the day equation. I'm finally back to eating little bits, n am slow-cooking a stew that will last awhile because I'm filling up so quick. Plus, some one messed up the freezer by not closing the door tight, so it had to be defrosted n I'm in a hurry to cook up my stuff. Threw most of the planned to re-heat stuff away from waiting too long, now many rainy Day freezer things too.

I think I only can remember 3 days since Xmas time when I didn't feel sick with sinus issues.

Alot of folks here are gearing up for a Superbowl Party, n I'd like to see it, but again I will be stuck at work.

Hope your Groundhog Day Goes Well.
